I have a client with a phobia of snakes. Tried the Fast Phobia Cure and the problem is that she can't feel any fear or nothing while thinking about memories of snakes or even thinking about snakes. Needless to say she get really scared when she actually see a snake, even a rubber snake. Fast phobia cure didn't do nothing. I tried to have her spin the fear in her body but since she can't feel by thinking this didn't work eather.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi Praesto,

I've worked with clients with similar cases. On these occasions I have used timeline to neutralize the fear.

Hope this helps.

Hi Fredrik,

You might want to check her modality (visual, auditory or kinesthetic) and make sure she is actually able to imagine or visualize well enough to experience fear or disgust.

It also sounds like imagining might not be enough for this person. You might have to resort to pictures or the use of the rubber snake, starting, perhaps with her eyes open and neutralizing or densitizing the fear. She may be extremely dissociated from her feelings or this particular fear but it sounds to me like she isn't very good at imagining or visualizing. Or, she may have a lot of resistance to imagining the thing that causes her fear and repulsion.

Praesto,

If it were me, I would next go to regression, to the very first time she felt like that. Have her hover over the scene in a safety bubble, then change the outcome of the ISE to a more positive one. That should defuse it.

Have her look at the rubber snake while she is in your hypno chair...have her close her eyes....focus on the feelings...regress to the ISE. The struggle you are pointing out is an important one...there are often times that people use hypnosis as a way of defending against the fear...however when they are in a so called waking state and actually fearful..they are already in a trance state...just make use of the emotion as the induction...

Make sense?

I like this approach..it's effective for me...

Do you think the rubber snake there since she fears will only get her more fearful of the situation..it can scare her more before the session...I would try it afterwards..my thought!
Thanks Richard, I'll try that.
She can imagine and visualise, actually she's very visual. EAC eyes goes up all the time. But she can't remember the associated feeling (goes for all feelings with her, not only fear).
the problem is that she can remember but dunt feel any fear. Do you mean changing the content in the memory?
Yeah makes sense. This one I'll try. Might work.
I agree with John Cleesattel on this topic. Any other technique besides discovering and releasing the ISE could result in the client eventually backsliding UNLESS that core cause is discovered and released at a subconscious level.

Sometimes that happens spontaneously with the faster techniques; but why leave it to chance? If you try to release the problem without releasing the emotional attachment to the core cause, the subconscious may eventually buy back the problem.

What is the benefit of success in this area?

You might want to try the control panel, and ask her to adjust the fear level to her liking with the appropriate dials and knobs.
