posting mail on hypnothoughts problem

Hello,

I have attempted to reply to a hypnothoughts member,who sent me an email on this site,since feb 27th,the amount of times i have done so ,i have now lost count of lol. i have even tryed to compose a new mail to the member but still no joy.

Is this a problem other hypnothoughts members are all having or is it some techy thing that needs some adjustment on the site.?

It is hoped that by creating this thred someone may have the solution to this problem.

Are you trying to reply through your email or through this site?

You can't reply to emails that go to your offsite address (gmail, yahoo, etc) you have to do it through the site. You may see the email sent to you in its entirety, but you can't reply that way.

I wish there was a way I could change that, but the way the platform is configured to handle mail and messages leaves me very little options there.

I recieved the post in my inbox here on this site,and i tryed to reply to it from my inbox here on the site,but no joy, i also tryed to COMPOSE a new post from my inbox to the member on this site but again no joy .SC

Hi Celine-

That's odd. Let me ask you a few questions and see if we can trouble shoot this:

1. are you getting an error message of some sort, and if so, what is it?

2. is the person you are trying to contact an active member of the site?

3. how do you know it's not working?

As I mentioned in this post about 2 weeks ago we have been running into some tech problems with the messaging system while we are working on some updates.

There have been some spammers lately removed by moderators you will not be able to respond to them after they have been excommunicated, they cannot then receive or send communication.

Do me a favor- send me a private message and see if it works. I haven't heard of this specific issue, so I want to play with some variables to understand it more.

I've had the same issue a number of times, but only when trying to reply to someone's private messages here on HT. Usually if I go to the member's page and click "Send a Message," I can send it that way.
