I was asked today for help with being able to unlock knowledge of a language spoken in childhood.

The person was brought up in Albania with one Albanian parent and another from a different country.  He had to leave the country due to war when he was 10.  So his use of that language gradually stopped as the family conversed in the other parent's language instead.  He is in his 20s so it wasn't that long ago.

He has since visited his brothers and when he hears them speaking Albanian it sounds familiar and when he is told what a word means he understands but he feels as if all the language is there but he just doesn't know how to make sense of it.

Does anyone have any ideas where to go with this?

I know of someone who did spontaneously regress to a childhood language
during a hypnosis session but the hypnotherapist on that occasion spoke
both languages so understood what was being said.

My guess is that the best solution would be to have a hypnotherapist who speaks both English and Albanian but I wondered what other approaches people would take.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have not had an opportunity to assist some one with this issue-- Sharon.

I might suggest he take a basic home study course and suggest that as he studies it will quikly wake up and give him access to every thing that he previously learned, blah, blah, blah. Depending on the client, I might discuss regression --

Warmest regards,

I have had experience with helping someone retrieve past abilities. It was not a language, but the ability to play a musical instrument. They had taken violin lessons for several years as a child and had performed at some recitals. Then when their parents moved the family to another city, the same type of resources were not available and the violin got put aside.

I was asked if I could help them to re-experience playing the violin as they did before the move. I used a regression technique that enabled them to return to that time and place and re-experience it.

The client then took up his violin and played it. He said it was not as good as it was back then because his fingers were not in condition (?) but he again knew how to play, where to put his fingers, and even had his old bow style (?) He was happy and said he could now progress from there.

Once we have experienced something, the experience stays recorded. I would suggest trying a regression technique and going from there.

I hope this helps you

Dear Sharon,
This is a topic after my heart. I have in the past practiced with a friend who hypnotized me in German, and asked me to experience an event in childhood. Since he had hypnotized me in German I answered his question and described my experience in German( this surprised him as most of the time we speak English together). I found that I achieved a new fluency level, since I hadn't practiced spoken German a lot in the past few years I felt kinda rusty and self conscious (not really me to be that way ... ) but never the less.... German is a 'second' language for me, but I was fluent in it as a child and young adult.

I also was able to speak Spanish fluently, but due to the non use I have lost most of it like your client. I have been toying with the idea to access it again hypnotically, but my idea was to find a Spanish speaking hypnotist and lay the basis in Spanish as with the above example.
I would guess one could regress to a time before leaving the environment where the language was spoken, and then have the client experience everything in that language.

I would be a willing guinea pig, if anyone has any other methods or want to try out any of these.

Always Looking for More Tools,
Aino
