Few people in the field of hypnosis are as respected as Gil Boyne.  This isn't surprising, as few people have contributed as much as he did.

The legacy of this great man speaks for itself far better than I ever could.  I also know his memory doesn't need my help in lasting the test of time.

I will say briefly, for the few of you who didn't know of him, that you were absolutely impacted by him.

Gil Boyne will forever be an icon in the history of hypnosis.  I was thrilled to meet him in person and speak at his conference.  I was humbled by his membership on this site.

Our profession has lost a giant who can only be replaced by the aggregate of his many students.  No single person will fill his shoes, though we will all stand on his shoulders.  Gil Boyne was a force of nature in our field who will always be remembered with deserved reverence.

SWEET DREAMS -- GIL

LOVE AND CONDOLENCES TO HIS LOVED ONES -

Rest in peace homeboy... Thanks for the love and encouragment you gave me and mine.

Rest in peace Gil. And to think just yesterday I was thinking how awesome it would be to attend a training of yours.

None of the BIG NAMES in hypnosis showed me respect and treated my family with love and care as Mark Gilboyne did. Not even close. None of the so-called leaders in the hypnosis field were as approachable and encouraging to me even as a beginner, and contributed to my overall success by showing me how to work intuitively with clients - instead of just working on them like machines.

Some of the Biggest Names in Hypnosis training (and marketing) owe a huge thanks to Mark Gilboyne, but I doubt that they will come forward and do it.

Mark, "let your mind grow clear..." my friend and model.
I will never forget you.

I am thankful for what I learned from Gil Boyne. I have been able to help so many people using what I learned from HIM. I am only one of thousands of his students, so imagine how many lives all of his students have changed! Many of us are now teachers, so OUR students have helped thousands of people. How many lives did Gil improve personally and through his students and our students? It must be in the millions. WHAT a LEGACY!!!

Some day we should do a good old fashioned Irish wake on Hypnothoughts and post our funny remembrances of Gil. But not now. I salute Gil Boyne for his teaching and his healing. May he rest in peace.

I am so saddened to read this news, my practice in hypnotherapy and teaching is influenced by Gil Boyne who has become a legend in the hypnotherapy world. He will be remembered as long as I live and for many more generations after me.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to his love ones.

RIP Gil Boyne....

To enjoy some of his earlier work, I posted this a couple years back on youtube, and Gil and I corresponded about this clip and other aspects of the movie "The Hypnotic Eye". If you watch the opening creidts, Gil was the technical consultant, and created the skits, routines and much of the writing for this classic 1959 movie. RIP Gil, your talent, contributions and love to all will always be appreciated.

Oh, I am so sorry he's gone. And I send my deepest sympathies to his family. One thing is certain: Many of us pass through this life barely leaving a trace...the opposite is true of Gil Boyne. He left mighty imprints on all of us who are dedicated to our Hypnosis roots, and he has spread his influence through infinity. We will never know where his influence stops!
I have been honored to call Gil a friend for more than 10 years. But, no matter how many years they will never be enough. Gil was a wonderful mentor to me. He pushed me to be a better hypnotherapist and a better teacher than I thought I was capable of being. What more can you ask of a friend and mentor?

Each year for the ACHE conference Gil would re-write my lecture topic descriptions for the catalog, promising the audience I would teach things I didn't know I knew. I would call the ACHE office sputtering and protesting only for John Young to say, "Mr. Boyne said you could do it." And, somehow, I would. At other times, the conference catalog would come out and I would see that he had assigned me to teach a topic that I didn't think I was capable of teaching. I would panic and call him. He would tease out of me more info than I thought I knew. He was constantly pushing me to be better, do more. He never let me rest on just being good. He would drive me crazy at times, scare me at other times, anger me sometimes and someitmes let me know I had done well. Thanks Gil. I miss you.

I hope Scott shows all these messages to John Butler.
Thank you for posting his picture...sniff KISS JADE
I had the great pleasure of meeting Gil Boyne back in the 70's when I lived in L.A. and took some weekly self hypnosis classes that he taught. Thank you Mr. Boyne and rest in peace.
