Few people in the field of hypnosis are as respected as Gil Boyne.  This isn't surprising, as few people have contributed as much as he did.

The legacy of this great man speaks for itself far better than I ever could.  I also know his memory doesn't need my help in lasting the test of time.

I will say briefly, for the few of you who didn't know of him, that you were absolutely impacted by him.

Gil Boyne will forever be an icon in the history of hypnosis.  I was thrilled to meet him in person and speak at his conference.  I was humbled by his membership on this site.

Our profession has lost a giant who can only be replaced by the aggregate of his many students.  No single person will fill his shoes, though we will all stand on his shoulders.  Gil Boyne was a force of nature in our field who will always be remembered with deserved reverence.

I hope he may find love and peace in the afterlife,
and that our thoughts of him can reach him in this next journey.
Rest in peace
What a loss to this life, and what a gift to the next :-(

Shine on, Mr Boyne!
I'm very saddened to hear this news about a hypnosis legend. My thoughts and Prayers are with his family.
May we all keep his memory alive, by telling stories about him, using his teachings to make the world better, and always be the best hypnotists we can be. Knowing he is receiving his reward for all his hard work, I worry not about him, but my thoughts are with his family, friends and his students, they are suffering at this great loss.

Gil, may you hear God say "Well done...., " as you enter heaven!
I'm proud to say that I had the pleasure of knowing Gil. I met him at the Academy, in Santa Fe...and had the privilege of learning from him. We exchange many emails, and a couple of phone calls. Somehow, as busy as he was... he could always find time to answer a question, or lend advice.

Gil was a Gentleman among men---and a Force to be reckoned with.
Godspeed Gil... and Thank You my Friend.

With love and respect..... Brenda

A great healer and teacher has left us. I was lucky enough to study extensively with Gil in the early 90's when I was starting out. You could learn so much from him so quickly. He helped enormously with information on dealing with legal issues here in Australia and constantly worked for the positive promotion of our wonderful profession in more ways than most of us could even think about.
Thanks Gil.

One of my favourite Gil Boyne quotes from this very site:

"Old age is not for sissies! But, consider the alternative" - Gil Boyne, age 85

RIP Mr. Boyne. Hope you're enjoying the alternative as much as you enriched the lives of those still here.

I am very sorry for this. I wish I had personally knew the man. He always sounded intelligent and full of knowledge. His posts here always seemed to me carefully thought. I have some of his video training tapes and undoubtedly he mastered his craft, and was very respectful as a hypnotist; also very elegant.

I hope to keep learning from all the valuable information he has left us.
Terribly sad news. A great loss of a terrific hypnotherapist and international inspiration.
As an ACHE member and graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America (which was well-favoured by Gil) I am deeply saddened and yet at the same time thankful that he existed for all who benefited from his amazing work. I was privileged to be a recipient of his knowledge, humour and expertise in a field that I love passionately. I have many certificates on my office wall that are signed by Gil and will stand as a perpetual testament of the true path and way of this important contribution in the healing arts.
He was a Christian, who worked in the Spirit ... God rest his soul and may he be nourished with Peace.
Who will take his place? Whoever it will be will have to have mighty big feet to fill those shoes!
