I wonder if any of you bright sparks might help me with a client who is very anxious and is unable to make a decision.  I have tried all the usual things, done age regression (didn't go well, she got sick feeling in stomach, which she has most days anyway) but enjoyed simple direct suggestions of "I am calm and relaxed etc".  She is on medication and her illness runs in the family.  Her father has Alzheimers disease, mother is an anxious mess.  I have tried various scripts for anxiety, but she keeps asking me the same question, such as "do you think because I had too much sugar yesterday (the perceived reason can be anything and everything)  is the reason I am this way?"  Do you think I should go back to my job?  (She had to leave because she drove everyone nuts with her constant uncertainty and questions)...do you think...what do you think...I just don't know what to do...I can't decide what to do..." And so on.  She is 56 and has been well until recently but has gradually got worse and worse (according to local woman who knows her well).

She feels much better for one day after seeing me but then relapses to same old same old.

I guess I should give up and leave her to the medical profession as obviously she is quite mentally ill, though still functioning in many ways.  What else could I try?  Any ideas?

I think the best thing to do for clients is not to completely take things away, but to offer new options in their life that they used to think were impossible or unattainable. We have to create new and bigger better problems, like enjoying things for no reason. If you change this generalization it will tranfer over to other used to be negative feelings also and that will open up a huge window of oppurtunity. The spinning is used to open up possiblilties of change and association of other feeling gives the brain something to change to. So basically not this, but this.

The real trick though is getting it to generalize to other parts, but it can be started very easily by saying while they are in trance, every night that you go to sleep and begin for the next day the process of healing and feeling better and begining to notice new oppurtunities to enjoy yourself in the little more each time and how these thing can and will intergate into new and better changes constantly this these changes, because people can enjoy things more and people can change for the better in things has to start within ones elf and this is just a begining to a lifetime of change and for a person to realize they can feel better, they can begin to strart with the small change and by noticing all of the little things, because the little things add up to be much bigger than the ones that seemed to be the problems people used to have, because they are noticing new things now and forever and compounding new things good things enjoying themselves more fully, now in fact I don't know how quickly things will get better all around, but I know that it becomes contagious to feel better, because feeling good leads to more feeling good and to start now, because the best reasons are to just feel good, because it feels good and to intergrate it in all of your life each night while you sleep and let your unconscious begin to make these change now and forever always getting better and better getting better always as you notice to begin to notice these changes becomming stronger with any sensation of good feelings growing now and becomming more contagious now with every count you come out and back completly up and going deeper into these good feeling as you come up and now faster then you can feel completly feel these changes stronger with every count and completly refreshed and making these changes stronger now and forever, because the past is just future moving past you now, because you are stronger, you are better and you can do this better, you can be stronger, you can feel better and you can do all of this now because it feels good to feel good doesn't it? start counting.

This is just for some ideals on compounding suggestions think of it as a motivational speech. I have noticed this has made an incredible difference in how people respond to suggestions its like the icing on a cake. I'll even continue with the additional suggestion while they just come out of the trace, because that is just like adding more icing to the cake and compounded suggestions just add to the response of the suggestion. Hope this has helped you. I know there are some diffucult ones out there, but as long as you know that it is possible and find the right patterns to change and allittle work you will figure out what to do in no time at all. All we are are manipulator and its pointless to do it if you weren't manipulating the right patterns. Being direct is never a problem and remember stacking things and patterns only makes it harder to go back to the same negative patterns no matter how much they try in vain.
I can't imagine talking to my client's doctor, I know her personally and apart from me thinking she is a bit useless, I'm sure she would scoff at hypnotherapy - she knows me as a bit of an eccentric and the local foodie. (I used to have a dinner/movie complex in our old unused movie theatre prior to my qualification). The medical profession is not 'up there' in this area I'm afraid, I think it best left alone. (Makes one think of the movie Deliverance eh?) Yes, I did age regression early on, as you know, most shit happens prior to age 5 - hey, maybe the psychologist is psychic! He may have picked something up, you never know. Definitely worth a try. I have Randy Shaw's set of regression dvd's and found them really good. Just take her back to the last time she felt..... and then keep going - but very gently. Although I got little from my client when I did it, nevertheless, I don't consider it a waste of time - in spite of what Doc Regal says. We each have our unique method of healing. What I do may not work for others and vice versa.

Hello Janice,

I have been following and see that you have been doing all you can, and I have a client who is rebelling when it comes to healing, anywhere from smoking cessation she cut to half a pack but did not stop all the way, to severe anxiety attacks. Her main issue is rebelling, sp last night she called me and tolled me that her psychologist want to talk to me with some direction to help my client his patient, and his advice was, now that we have done everything possible, it's time to do an "Age Regression", he wants me to take her to age four. I haven't talk to the Doctor beside having a doctor referral, therefore I have no idea why age four? waiting for client to sign some form that allows me t communicate with her doctor freely, so it is not just a doctor referral but a permission to discuss our sessions to help our client.

My question is, have you talk to her doctor to see what he thinks about her issues? Have you done age regression yet? If not, maybe It's time..

Thank You Janice,

I am not against anything, as long it can help the client, and I will start with basics and take it step by step, some type of therapy I will avoid personally and will approach it as a last resort, and I do agree that that some people benefit from therapy in a different style or way, for example some of my client really benefit more from my personal coaching rather then hypnosis, and some benefit from both, or some benefit more just from an energy healing.

Yes, everyone is quite different, and this is where it helps to be really intuitive as to what works best with each client. Apparently my client went to a well known hypnotherapist in Auckland when she first became ill (he is the President of the New Zealand Hypnotherapy Federation) and in her words (he did nothing for me) and she seems very pleased with me as it is the first time she has felt actual improvement. So I am pleased, but not holding my breath for complete wellness just yet - i suspect we have some way to go. As some one said a while back, this may take some time, but I am encouraged with her progress.
