Small Business Client Calendar/Database suggestions?

I am trying to find a client appointment making and database software that will work well.  I am a one person office, and do all of the scheduling, etc. myself.

I'm having a hard time finding anything that fits.  What do you all use?

I use Google calender which is very good for appointments. I also use FileAmigo LE 7.3 which is free database software.

I have a pocket-size calendar that I keep in my handbag. lol
I use a small pocket appointment diary.

Just remember to write appointments in pencil, so that you can change them when people ring to rearrange an appointment.

I see no need to make a simple task any more complicated than that.

I do use google on my iphone. But, if you are looking to incorporate a calendar where clients can schedule on their own check out Schedulicity. I have heard many like.

Hi Laura,

I use Smart diary which is free: http://download.cnet.com/Smart-Diary/3000-2124_4-10071447.html?tag=...

It is password protected and will allow you to book appointments and will remind you of you appointment on your desktop even if you are not logged in.

Google calander is what I use
And the great thing about Google calender is that you can add/edit appointments on your iPhone and it will automatically update on your PC or Mac (and vice versa). You can also export the data to your client database.

I thought I was the only one!!!  It takes less time to write in that calendar than to punch into the smart phone, plus I can look at it while talking and not worry about dropping the call!

I am looking for an online database, though.

If you have a smartphone, depending on the platform your options will vary. As stated, Google should connect but did not work out on my phone for some reason. It doesn't sych. If you have iphone or android it should work . I operate on a Windows Mobile Platform and MSmyphone synchs the two calendars nicely rather nicely. Unless you are in your office from 8-6, I advise a mobile connection.

John, thank you.  I'm going to get a smart phone and this is answers one of my questions.
ACT is a good database managing system that is easy to use. You put your contacts information and you can print labels ,letters and invoices from the same data base. For $55.00 its worth the price.

It sounds like you must be on a PC. iCal is a very good calendar app that comes pre-installed on the Mac. There's a calendar app called BusyCal that I use...it's like iCal on steroids. You can set it up to synch with your iPhone calendar app and even your Google calendar over the air when you make a change to any of those calendars. I like that feature because you can add audio alerts to appointments on your iPhone or computer, which is good for those of us who are easily distracted. Another nice feature of the Mac OS is that when you get an email from someone that includes a date, location, time, or anything that might be related to an appointment, you can click on the data and the system will ask you if you want to create an appointment or a new contact. It's pretty slick.
