I know dormir is spanish for sleep but will sleep and deep (in English) work for rapid inductions in a bilingual community? I live where there are many spanish speakers and would like to have these two words memorized for speed inductions.

Any spanish speakers who could help me, please lemme know.

Thanks

Candin

How come you don't just go to a mexican restaurant, and ask the waiter who is serving you your taco/burrito/tamale?

If you are respectful, because they will help you, because they wants to earn a tip.
"but will sleep and deep (in English) work for rapid inductions in a bilingual community?"

Anyone who speaks spanish and a hypnotist care to reply?
I'm Spanish. For sleep, the exact translation is "Duerme" (imperative). For deep it would be "profundo", but it doesn't sound very natural unless you use it as an adjective for the noun relaxation (then it is probably too long to say all the time). When I'm doing the Elman induction I tell them to say with each number: "each time more relaxed", (in Spanish "cada vez más relajado"), which in spite of being long, sounds good to me in Spanish. And it works.

Best,

Pablo
Hello Pablo,

Not trying to be a pest, and it is not that I am working for a language goal.

But I was just wondering what it means, when the cartoon mouse shouts "andele! andele! Ariba! Ariba!"

I was just what the words are in english.

Thank you...

Speedy Gonzales is saying "Come on! Come On! Upward! Upward! (in this case I would guess meaning strive harder)

A rule of thumb is...if they understand what you are saying, it will work, if they don't understand, its just noise.

Hi there Candin. Here in Aruba I worked with 3 languages: spanish, papiamento and English (couse my dutch is really basic). My mother language is spanish; when I get Aruban clients, I greet and chat for a while in papiamento, I asked them: how is your spanish (or english if they are Dutch), asked: you liked rancheras or vallenatos? (tipical Mexican or Colombian music) or asked if they like any particular spanish or english soap opera on t.v.,(just look for a "yes"), and then I'll say: that's perfect, becouse I'm going to speak in spanish (or english) for a while. Make the induction in the language I feel comfortable and know they understand and when they are hypnotized I may continue between spanish, english or papiamento. Before I used to do the induction in papiamento, but some words pronounce the same but mean something different. You say they are bilingual, so, use english for the induction (you'll fell more comfortable), and when in trance you can splash some spanish. "Cuando diga duerme, entraras en un sueño profundo, inmediato, muy fuerte".
Hope it help.
Thanks Alfredo and Pablo. Going to try these out:)

Yer Fan,

Candin

Sorry for being so delayed in giving you an answer; I haven't visited the forum since some days ago...

"Ándele" is a Spanish verbal form that, being correct gramatically, is almost exclusively used in that way by South-Americans. It would translate more or less as "Come on!". "Arriba, arriba!" would translate exactly: "Up, up!"

Best,

Pablo
I think it is Sleepo and deepo por fa vor.
Do you know what ever lanuage you speak if you say Sleep with speed or rapid hypnosis I bet it will work for you...just try it!
no barrier for that....
