Stanford University is doing MRI test on hypnotic subjects.
I answer a ad asking for people who want to be hypnotized for a MRI study at Stanford University last week. There was a group of 12 people and the psychologist read the hypnotic induction from a old script from the 1960's. I didn't make the first round of testing and did get a change to see the MRI.

I have always said, the statistic that psychologists have thrown around that 20% cannot be hypnotized should really be"
"20% of all people cannot be hypnotized by a grad student reading a script." Or as I like to phrase it:
"Holy shit! 80% of all people can easily go into hypnosis when only being read a script by an untrained graduate student!"
I find it amazing that reserachers reading a script have that high a success rate!

Richard yea it was an old script and I had to block him out to put myself under but he did get most of the people under. I didn't tell him I was a stage hypnotist and he started by saying how bad stage hypnosis was then proceed to do some stage skits during the induction.
