Subject: SB-577 and its impact on the hypnotherapy profession

Recently I learned from an ACHE member that John Melnychuk invested $42,000 of his own money to help get a historic law passed in California that benefits both the hypnotherapy profession AND consumers who wish to use hypnotherapy for complementary health care. This law went into effect in 2003, and was a great step forward for our profession. The SB-577 is referenced on the ACHE website

John Melnychuk recently told this person:

"I fronted the project approximately $42,000.  Most of that has been recovered, but a debt of a few thousand to me remains.  I thought at this point, I'd never see anything more returned.  
If you wish to make a contribution, we would be grateful. Thanks for writing to me."

It might be very beneficial if we, as a profession, attempted to get a similar law passed n light of the persistent attacks from the psychology profession against what they term as "lay hypnosis." Since there are now over 6,000 people posting on Hypnothoughts, perhaps a donation to John Melnychuk of either $5.00 or $10.00 (or more) might result in his recovering his investment seven years late...and also motivate him to help us get a similar law passed in other states around the country.

I for one am willing to donate to him. Who else is willing to do likewise?
