Suggestion to entice young minds about the power of hypnosis.

Phobia, fear and problems are one thing but what is a good direct suggestion to intrigue the minds of teenage individuals?

My current pool of hypnosis subjects are teenagers; friends of my children. I may have four to eight people at a time that are eager to experience hypnosis. What suggestions would you recommend that would open thier eyes to the power of hypnosis?

Drug of Choice is one I would prefer to avoid along with the typical stage suggestions.

Empowering minds, one person at a time.

Respectfully,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I work with teens and the one most powerful tool that they learn and run with is the ability to choose their own emotional experience. Whether you opt to teach them about their control room or how to use a protective shield or any other way to demonstrate how they can be in control of their own feelings and not have them dictated by others, this lesson will be most valuable.

I also instruct young people in the use of a pendulum ideomotor tool. They love to explore their own subconscious minds with it; just be sure to include caveats and clarify that it is not a prognosticator, but an indicator of what they believe at the present time.

Best wishes,

Kelley

I have a wonderful 16 year old daughter, and I am a single father. So I often have a house full of her friends who all want my help. I do keep track of what they are asking for, just part of my accounting background ha ha..The number one and I really mean the number one thing is: Self-Confidence! And just as a side note, I asked her once why would her friends even ask for my help? Hey I am a grown up and a dad, kids that age don’t often ask us for anything besides a new phone lol..at any rate she said its because they see how I live my life and that I do what I say to do myself.
Take care and from one father to another ..good luck lol

Incorporate NLP skills with your sessions ... swish and future pacing come to mind ... allowing them to use the power of their own unique imagery to see themself as a success, moving past the peer pressures they are surrounded with
Sir,

Could you suggest some reading material or courses that could guide me on being more creative with my suggestions?

Respectfully,
Kevin

Sir?? I feel as if I have been knighted (just kidding ... kind of formal though ... geez, am I really that old looking?) :)

There are several books ... NLP for dummies is actually quite good, and one of my favorites, as is Business NLP for Dummies. The Big Book of NLP Techniques is very informative, and contains over 200 patterns to learn and use. Richard Bandler has several good books out ... Guide to Trance-formation is one of my favorites.

There are several good classes, and seminars to take, but they can be pricey ... many center around sales, so you will want to do your homework beforehand ... not that one on sales would not be good, just that it may not be quite what you are looking for. Many of the techniques can be restructured for hypnosis use.

On an easier note, Richard Nongard (on this site) actually has a video program that is well presented, informative, and you can watch it over and over. NLP takes quite a bit of practice, but if you can learn a few of the techniques, they are quite powerful, especially when incorporated with hypnosis. I love NLP because it allows the client to see past their present situation and actually envision their future.

Richard's website is on Hypnothoughts ... NLP certification and Life-Coach Certification ... SubliminalScience.com

I believe Kevin Cole also has a program, although I have not taken it.

If you ask others on this site, I am sure they will offer good NLP programs based on their experiences. You will find some excellent help from the people on this site.

Hmm, it is a shame that you would ignore stage tech. The simplicty of a good convincer or suggestibility test will make teens eyes pop and give you a solid command of your attention... Binds, double binds, Ericsonian Stories, and good presentation skills will win the day.

Justin,

No disrespect intended; my opinions are only based on my experiences.
I will admit, watching your video was thought provoking.
Looks like I need to follow up with some more reading and attend a live stage course for more variety.

NLP & Stage work - is that a dangerous mix?

Thank you for your input and keep up the awesome work you are doing.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No........ All NLP is "Technical Hypnosis" Richard Bandler & John Grinder modeled Milton Erickson, and a few other top therapists. They figured out what they did "thier scripts" and then copied them and used them as models.....

A solid understanding of them will make you a better hypnotist.
