Just hit a snag, and wonder if I am the only one. In attempting to sign up for the convention, it seems that I am constantly steered to one method of payment ie Paypal. Nothing against it since I have no experience with it, but I do note that it asks for a number from my mastercard that is not intended to be given out, and I have no interest in Paypal anyway since I would never use it. I am now wondering how I can sign in and pay with my Mastercard? Or perhaps if this is not possible via a charge card, what else is available? I have also contacted members of HSA with information re the convention, and may get this query from others, yet I have no clue how to answer it....HELP,,,,,,,

Paypal is a very secure method of credit card payment ... if for some reason you purchase something online and need to return it, was charged an incorrect amount, etc ... PayPal will lodge a complaint on your behalf and get your money back, saving you the time and energy of having to go through your credit card company. The numbers they are asking for are now being required by most banks in order for the transaction to go through (security to show that you are in possession of the card)

Hope this helps.
Hi Anthony-

It sounds like your question is: Can I pay without having to sign up for paypal? The answer is YES. The way paypal is set up, you don't actually have to create an account, they just make that link much bigger to try to motivate you to create an account. You can simply enter your credit card information and not create an account with them.

Let me know if you have a different or more specific question,
Scott
My thanks to both of you. after reading your replies, I went back to try again, and this time my aplication was rejected as wrong information, which was not true since I checked carefully, so I will leave it and try again tomorrow.
I am by the way Dennis, a retired banker, and my bank takes good care of me because I still have contact with the girls I worked with and get speciall treatment.....(G)
Dennis,
FYI.
I had an issue with something I paid for, through Paypal...and I mentioned to the Paypal lady, while trying to resolve an issue, how wonderful paypal is at helping me...right? right? and they said...uh..."NO" <--straight from the source. I received an item - the wrong item. Paypal tells me:
a) they could help me if I didn't receive an item.
HEllo.... if this is the case...anyone can send anything as long
as that 'something' sent - closely resembles wanted item. <--not kidding.

and
b) if it was bought on ebay - they could help you more because of how it is listed on ebay.
I bought something on Craigs List.

I'm not saying this to dis Paypal. I still use it, it's still convenient... but, this 'inferrence' that all online purchases qualify. ..simply isn't true. They don't.
I put up a fuss for a good 2 months with Paypal and with my Credit Card company. Paypal was zero help. My Credit Card company...decided to eat it so they wouldn't have to listen to me any longer.<--I'm guessing.
Cheers.
~D.
