For me the perfect induction is one which manifest the results you desire: induces the subject. Sooner or later we all must give up our desire to find an induction script we can robotic-ally use to hypnotize any one and every one. I'm soooooo glad that no such script appears to exist nor can I imagine one will ever exist because I suppose such a thing would put me out of business (and you too). Fortunately, everyone is unique in some respects and although we have principles we use based on 2 Basic Personality types we sometimes forget that within these two types each person demonstrates a different DEGREE of preference towards one or the other. So although we do indeed use model induction concepts given to us by others, in the end we must use whatever each individual puts out and let our own sub-conscious mind respond to that and do the hypnotist role for us. So , my suggestion is to go ahead and enjoy all the fun available in seeking out the Perfect Induction but do so in the realization that it is improbable of finding one and meanwhile in your hypnosis practice, just use whatever the subject gives you and trust that your sub-conscious expert hypnotist will produce whatever perfection might be available in the process, given your current level of experience/skill.

Your thoughts to these thoughts are indeed welcome.

Ron,
To me, the perfect induction is not just a perfect script that you can recite and hope to get totally repeatable results with. Instead; it is a formula that uses the understanding of the hypnosis/trance mechanism, which is understanding what hypnosis and trance really is, and how the mind works in relationship to hypnosis and trance...to satisfy the individual requirements of achieving purposeful trance for each unique subject.

It is understanding that hypnosis is a process; that not only has to result in a trance state, but that it also has to satisfy the watchdog of the judgmental mind so that will allow the trance state to manifest and automatically react.

While satisfying this security requirement is often referred to as simply "rapport", it is in reality much more than that. It is the satisfying of a security need that the judgmental mind has, that the hypnosis will not pose a threat to the subject, either from the trance state itself, or from the integrity (or lack thereof) of the hypnotist.

So you must be able to accomplish both of these facets with your hypnosis process. Some people have very little fear of hypnosis or hypnotists, while others have learned to become more suspicious and cautious of things like possible hidden agendas, exposure of secrets, or have received misinformation about what hypnosis is, etc.

It is factors like these that are unique to each individual, and that your hypnosis process must compensate for, which is why there will never be the perfect universal induction script.

I hope this was understandable the way that I said it.

There is no One True Induction that works 100% of the time; real hypnosis is simply not that formulaic.

An induction is a means of conveying your intent to hypnotize.
