i was just following some advice i got on this site and was talking to accupuncturist who said she is willing to send me clients (hurray).  she asked me to give her some brochures and trifolds to give to her patients.  the only problem is, i don't have a trifold and i don't know how to make a good one.

does anyone know who i should contact or what i should do to get one made?  i don't want to do them myself or go to one of those cheap template places.  i want them to be great.

thank you in advance

on second thought, if someone knows of any great software that i could use (i'm on a pc, not mac) id be happy to take a look at that too. any hints or advice would be great.
personally I use Adobe to create brochures but it is very expensive. Here is an extremely cheap but very powerful piece of software that can easily do the job.

I did mine in word 2 pages 3 columns per page a bit of messing about working it out then to get printed I uploaded to http://convert.neevia.com/ wait only takes a few minutes and you can download it in pdf or have it emailed to you.

You can also go through an online service like Vista Print where you fill out the templates on their site and then have them print it for you.
Don't use brochures. Instead use a postcard sized flyer. You can have 1000 printed for $99 or less that are 2 sided 4 color glossy.

In San Francisco there are dozens of local printers who do this, but a quick search online found these guys:

www.mypostcardprinting.com

They will do 1000 double sided 4x6 postcards for $82.83.

But, before you do this, you have a much more important things to consider which are

  1. Who is this for? You need to write copy that matches up with the prospect.
  2. What is the offer? DO NOT make this an over sized business card. Instead put an offer on the marketing piece to encourage them to do business with you. It can be as simple as "call this number for a free evaluation session" or "go to xyz.com for your free report on how you can stop smoking without painful withdrawls"
  3. Avoid the trap of listing everything hypnosis has ever been found to work with on the card. It will be much more effective if you pick your Niche and focus on it. Instead of Jack-of-all-trades, you become an Expert on X. Which would you rather do business with?
  4. Put a big bold benefit oriented headline on the card instead of Bob's Hypnosis or whatever your business name is. The headline is 80% of the reason people read a marketing piece (or article etc.), use a headline that makes them want to find out more.
  5. Make sure you can track results so you know if this is an effective marketing channel

Do these things and you'll get a much higher response rate for your efforts.

For those in UK, this company is excellent. I got 5,000 double sided, full colour, lithograph printed, DL size (thats half the width of A4) for £86. The quality is terrific, printed on heavyweight card and service was excellent. They provide a template and you can upload your design in PDF format. http://www.sensecreative.co.uk/Leaflet-Flyer-Printers.cfm?vid=32
Do you have Word or Word Perfect on your pc? It's easy. Divide the paper in 1/3's lengthwise. They even have pretty pictures for covers you can key over with Business Name and contact info. Then, start writing about all the different types of things you do in hypnotherapy IN BOLD with a little blurb w/o being completely specific so anyone that picks it up can see themself in myriad places on your brochure. Now, for the reverse more items and ending by- writing a nice piece about you.on the page that will show as the 'back' page. Where'd you grow up. How'd you get interested in hypnosis and what are your favorite things in life (make yourself very human - just like your clients). That's a how. My acupuncturist and I wanted to switch some clients that we each knew would be better served by the other. The clients, however, didn't like that at all. Mine would say - I'm not going anywhere and have needles stuck in me - forget it and his would say they didn't want anyone rummaging around in their brains. To each their own. Hope it works out for you ~Marjorie
