It's a cliché, but the pendulum seems to be the most associated symbol!

A lot of people associate spirals with hypnosis, but again, it's kind of a cheesy cliche. Not that I don't have a giant spiral I plan to spin in front of an audience soon . . .

Personally, I'm very fond of the image of the God Hypnos, who is depicted with wings on his head. But that's far from universal.

That is the first I thought of but it just doesnt seem to fit the bill for me....like Christmas shopping, lots of stuff to buy but just not quiet what I think I want to buy for that person...LOL

I know it's very cliched.. but I've started... so I'll finish...

My suggestion for a universal symbol is some where in
this five minute video.

I just took a traditional medical symbol and I added an eye for hypnosis.
