From my limited knowledge of the pendulum I think you might be able to relax your conscious mind further during the process if you just stick to yes/no answers.
Then discard all of the no's and work further with the yes answers, and by process of elimination, you may find more answers as your more relaxed rather than having to pay too much attention for all the different variables.
Thinking about it, your pendulum only answered Yes or No anyway, isn't it? Interesting..
Eventually you can tune yourself in so much that you will no longer need the pendulum, and that sounds like fun, eh?
cool

Antonio...you have me wondering if utilizing the pendulum would be an alternative method of answering the "yes", "no", or "maybe/not sure" questions on the Suggestibility Test I use in the first session....in lieu of using a head shake or head nod. (I ask the client not to verbalize, but rather, to shake their head "yes" or nod their head "no"). It seems to me that using the pendulum would create even more overload of message units and facilitate the conversion to hypnosis even more rapidly.
Yeah I believe you can use the pendulum as a convincer..actually, let me rephrase that, you CAN use the pendulum as a convincer. Possibly something along the lines of "sooner or later the pendulum will begin swinging in a direction...I'm not sure what direction it will be swinging in, only your unconscious knows what direction it will be swinging in..and as you notice this pendulum starting to swing you may also notice/become aware/etc."

Antonio, that's a good idea, but didn't address what I was referring to. I have yes and no questions I ask in the first session to test suggestibility before I condition the client to hypnosis. I ask them not to verbalize, but to nod their head "yes" or shake their head "no". I was thinking maybe I could calibrate the pendulum to their yes, no, and maybe, and us the pendulum instead of the head nod or shake. If the client is open to pendulums and doesn't have a problem withe them, I think it could be an alternative method to getting the yes/no/maybe for the suggestibility tests. So thank you anyway, for triggering that idea for me!

There is also the chance that the person would deliberately fake the questions, possibly to give you what they think you want to know. Anyhow, why would a person want to test for suggestibility? Everyone is suggestible. I look at it this way, since a person is coming to you for help/become hypnotized, etc. they are expecting it to happen. If you want to see some great examples of using a pendulum for hypnosis check out Brian David Phillips in these following videos:
