The local news here wants to do a story for world hypnotism day next week. It will be 3 parts, with the first part being general questions and the second part they want something visual "like a chart or something". I'm racking my brain trying to come up with something. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Debbie

I'll play Debbie-

Congrats for getting the coverage!

How about a demonstration?...that would be visual :)

Well that first one is quite hilarious I must say! But it wouldn't work well here as a male hypnotist was sent to jail in my town just 2 years ago for inappropriate behavior with a female client!

John, I thought of that, but I may only have 30 seconds or so. That's pretty short. I know there are instant inductions, but don't they usually work best on people you've hypnotized before?

Hi Debbie,

I'd probably consider the timing, right after New Year's, and play off of people's resolutions to get healthy. Use some stats on the efficacy of hypnosis for smoking cessation or weight loss, and make a little powerpoint show. You can make it fun and even humorous, which people prefer over dry facts...

Debbie,

Not necessarily, but most performers do hedge their bets if and when they can. If this is going to be on camera, what prevents you from hypnotizing a subject before hand, emerging them, and then doing an instant induction on them in front of the camera? Or at least making sure they are an easy subject beforehand. You might as well get all of the good press mileage you can get out of this ;)

The other aspect is presenting the percent effectiveness of hypnosis over other means of weight loss, stop smoking, etc. in chart form.
