I have a weight loss client and we started pretty good.she lost 2 pounds in the 1st week and her craving for icecream was gone, but she came the next week and had gained the 2 pounds back, her craving for icecream was not there but she was just eating a lot, though healthy food.the other thing she started was seeing ghost like figures and people from coffins moving towards, some were fimiliar while others not.
food has been her comfort zone and she also has a strong belief that she looses who and whatever she gets close to or what ever makes her happy has to go, due to past events.she is not ready to regress but really wants to shed this weight.
looking forward to ur suggestions how to proceed

Hi Sunita
You Wrote "due to past events.she is not ready to regress but really wants to shed this weight."
All of her problems started in the past ....and that is where you will have to go to fix them ....but for now you can gain her trust by teaching her how to release her negative feelings from current events in her life that she is using food (her drug ) as a distraction from ....when she gains confidence in your ability to remove her pain in the now ....she will regress and allow you to work with her feelings so she can heal herself and return to a normal weight range ...because she will not be eating to distract her from those feelings
..
Hi Sunita,

I am curious...why do you mention the ghostly figures and people from coffins? Do you think from working with her that it has anything to do with her being overweight?

Take care.
Hi Jimmy,
ya it was a bit difficult to understand but the reason why i mentioned is that she has a strong belief that she looses whom ever she gets close to( they die) even with happiness, its like a replacement and weight loss is her point to be happy.i dont know if it is related but since it was so prominant i gave it a thought.

Hi Sunita,

It's interesting that you say this because, in my experience, loss and the fear of loss is a common presence in people seeking hypnosis help for weight loss. You might do some parts work investigating this. It is imperative to release that emotion tension before the weight will really fall away and formal regression isn't necessary, especially if your client has a fear of it. Allowing the part of her that put on and keeps on the weight to have voice is powerful and will give you both valuable insight. She may want to follow that voice to the past on her own volition...be sure to get her permission before assisting her.

Another great technique is to use Gestalt Chair Therapy to let her speak with those people she has lost. What if they were to encourage her to become healthy by losing the weight?! Perhaps she has a need to hear positive messages from them...regardless, it is usually helpful to have those conversations with our "lost" ones, whether they are dead or still living.

Best wishes,

Kelley
