I am trying to create a weight loss program, and I am in need of advice on what you find successful with regard to Weight Loss Programs. For example, under 40 lbs, how often do see the client, and what do you cover in each session? I understand customizing the session per the weakness, but what do you feel is a must to include? Also, do you change up the CD reinforcement that you send home with them? If so, how often. Obviously, weight loss results vary depending on the reasons they need to lose weight. I would really appreciate anyone who has had success with their programs and would love to help a newer hypnotist.
Thank you so much.

Roger,
I too, love Hypnothoughts!

I love learning and I am getting better at noticing that my opinion, although it makes sense to me, isn't the only opinion.

Thanks for sharing your information and the...'why' or 'how' you came about your approach/ideas.

Since my background prior to hypnosis...is operant conditioning (on the psychology side) and raw foods and how nutrition alters brain chemistry (on the nutrition side).... it is easier to understand why I might want to remind people that ..."hey, have we looked at the food??"...because it is what I study.
OR, further... "hey, you're not reinforcing (bad) behavior by saying 'you can have this treat (sugar/crap item) only on a special occasion?"...because that would be against basic operant conditioning rules! ~grin.

Again, I love learning and I love how many people are willing to share their educated thoughts.

Thanks for being here.
~D.

God I love HypnoThoughts! What a great place to explore ideas. I first picked up "It's not about the food" from clients - it was a phrase that I started hearing them say when they got that they were using food as their drug of choice to fill a void or meet an unmet need. When that need was met in a healthy way, healthy eating becomes natural. When you love and care for you, you want to feed yourself with love and care.

I have never talked much about what I consider to be healthy eating here on HT - but if you look around at some of my videos or read my daily blog post, you will find that I have some pretty strong opinions on what constitutes a healthy diet - some would call it radical - I just consider it natural. And if you notice, I love to ride my bike and even get a kick out of pumping the iron.

So, even though I strongly believe that "it's not about the food" Kelley Woods is right. You got burn more than you take in, you gotta move and change the beliefs.

In Alcoholics Anonymous they say "drinking is but a symptom" -how can that be!?!?
Of course its about the drinking, after all its called Alcoholics Anonymous right!?!?

While drinking and food are different in a sense they are both covering certain emotions...I agree that they have to be dealt with in order to gain any substantial and long lasting weight reduction! Bottom line its about the food. If they weren't eating to much, the wrong things, not burning calories it generally wouldn't become an issue.
I learned a very effective tool for change work from master hypnotist Jeffrey Stephens. you give the subject whatever experience to focus on consciously while you are talking to his unconscious mind (tell him that you're going to do so). next tell the unconscious that he had his own reasons for keeping the person fat, and he did an excellent job, but know, it's no longer healthy for that person to be fat, so he needs to do the necessary work to keep the person fit (say the subject's name), eating healthy and motivated to do some exercise. and it will start taking effect from the moment you emerge the subject until it becomes unsafe or not good for the person (emphasize that phrase). and have their conscious mind back with you and make the classic fit body visualization and tell them that they will become that person as the days and the weeks go by. this is a great method for any type of changework in less than 20 minutes and the results are long lasting.

of course, you will find a way to customize it in a way that best suits you so you will get the best results.

What kind of things do you give them to focus on consciously? Any random thing like the color of the carpet or something more specific dealing with the task at hand?

You make them feel a wonderful feeling in their body and focus on it. Or you make them live an experience like if it was reality so they focus on it and stop paying conscious attention to your suggestion, so not analyzing them. But in reality, anything will do it, just be creative and bear in mind that the more pleasant the thing is, the more they will focus on it and be absorbed by it.

I have taken the Course offered by Subliminalscience.com "Weight Loss MMP" and have found it to be very effective, the course was educational. I thought previous to the course I undrstood weight loss I was wrong, the course added to my arsonal, combined with diet and excercise imagine that, diet exercise and knowledge I am at -30 Lbs since March of this year, and I thought I was in good shape, more of a round shape than I thought, so the MMP course (education) and hypnosis sessions combined with subliminal messages you can see on my site are what I use, personally and with clients. Since some peoples triggers are stress, I use the above methods with Autogenics.
