It's been said that cold weather makes warm memories, and now is the time of year when we give and share with the people nearest and dearest to us. Since not all of us have the benefit of a White Christmas, I've taken the liberty of adding some falling snowflakes and a few sprigs of holly to everyone's personal page so that we can all enjoy this festive season and make special memories of our own.

As we reach the end of 2008, I want to take a quick moment to reflect on this last year and what progress we have made as a community of peers over the past 12 months.

In 2008 we saw this site grow beyond our wildest dreams. In fact, January first we only had 329 members on this site. We have had almost 2,500 people join this community in just a year! We were able to raise hundreds of dollars for a great hypnosis mentor and friend to many when he needed help. Together we generated thought, conversation, community, and motivation with so many other people that might otherwise have never learned from each other. This site has grown because you have shared it with your friends, and without your support and contributions this site wouldn't be the valuable resource it has become.

This year we also created HypnoPedia- a fully editable, customizable online hypnosis encyclopedia that is constantly growing in value thanks to your contributions and comments. We have built the Global Hypnosis eSummit, which will be the first online hypnosis conference that will take place in March of 2009. Although this hasn't launched yet, the hundreds of people who have already registered and the amazing speakers who have signed on have already made the endeavor a tremendous success for this year.

We have other big things planned for 2009 that I am excited to share with you soon. For now, though, let's take a minute to enjoy the end of the year together. No need for future pacing or time lines, just appreciate the moments you have now as 2008 draws to a close.

Hope you have the happiest of Holidays with your loved ones close to you,
Scott Sandland and the HypnoThoughts Team

Here is a Christmas Song that was just written and released this year by a musician I enjoy and that the Aussie and UK members may be familiar with:

Peace and Good Will,William Mitchell
If the snowflakes get you in the Holiday mood make sure you've already participated in this years Not-So-Secret-Santa give away.

Based on the feedback I've been getting there are quite a few members sharing all sorts of great stuff with each other.

for example-
Josh was the first one to reply to this post so he is getting a FREE TICKET to the Global Hypnosis eSummit

See how fun it is to give things away? I'm in the Holiday Spirit, how about you?

-Scott

PS:
The snowflakes are making the live chat feature load and refresh a little slower than usual. Thanks for understanding and being patient...
Scott, You seem incredulous that you have had such a wonderful success with this project. You've worked hard to give us a wonderful totally impartial forum where we can share and mentor and debate and discuss the ins and outs of hypnosis and it's related arts. There always was a bunch of really great people out there that embrace that concept, if only someome would make it practical. ,,, and wow you did it. All of the great things I used to lust after and envy when I followed you in the (old) sleepwalkers. .... Here in one place. Amazing. Of course this worked!! Folks would have to be brain-dead to not jump on this band wagon. My sincerest thanks for youe efforts and wait till you see how it grows next year... MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I have only been part of this website since about 10 days ago. I think it is a wonderful resource and I am sure having alot of fun.

Thank you for doing this. It is a wonderful idea, and I think that doubling it's membeship in the next year should be fairly easy.
