It's been said that cold weather makes warm memories, and now is the time of year when we give and share with the people nearest and dearest to us. Since not all of us have the benefit of a White Christmas, I've taken the liberty of adding some falling snowflakes and a few sprigs of holly to everyone's personal page so that we can all enjoy this festive season and make special memories of our own.
As we reach the end of 2008, I want to take a quick moment to reflect on this last year and what progress we have made as a community of peers over the past 12 months.
In 2008 we saw this site grow beyond our wildest dreams. In fact, January first we only had 329 members on this site.We have had almost 2,500 people join this community in just a year! We were able to raise hundreds of dollars for a great hypnosis mentor and friend to many when he needed help. Together we generated thought, conversation, community, and motivation with so many other people that might otherwise have never learned from each other. This site has grown because you have shared it with your friends, and without your support and contributions this site wouldn't be the valuable resource it has become.
This year we also created HypnoPedia- a fully editable, customizable online hypnosis encyclopedia that is constantly growing in value thanks to your contributions and comments. We have built the Global Hypnosis eSummit, which will be the first online hypnosis conference that will take place in March of 2009. Although this hasn't launched yet, the hundreds of people who have already registered and the amazing speakers who have signed on have already made the endeavor a tremendous success for this year.
We have other big things planned for 2009 that I am excited to share with you soon. For now, though, let's take a minute to enjoy the end of the year together. No need for future pacing or time lines, just appreciate the moments you have now as 2008 draws to a close.
Hope you have the happiest of Holidays with your loved ones close to you,
Scott Sandland and the HypnoThoughts Team
Here is a Christmas Song that was just written and released this year by a musician I enjoy and that the Aussie and UK members may be familiar with:
A wonderful cheerful happy holidays to all of you this season. For my family its Christmas that we celebrate but I know there are many wonderful celebrations happening at this time of year. So however you celebrate please enjoy it fully and keep peace and happiness in your heart.
Scott,
Thanks for this wonderful site. And more to come? I can't wait to see what else you can conjure up. With this many fun, knowledgeable, caring, and giving hypno savvy people gathering in one place, there is no end in sight to what this community can do.
As Christmas eve is here, and the snow is falling (for real outside,) I am grateful for my membership, and all the knowledge I have already gained from this community.
Merry Christmas and a 'Trancey' New Year to all from North Pole, Alaska
I give you the winner of North Pole Christmas in Ice ice sculpture competition... "Last Minute Juggle"
Man. I keep being late in my responding to these posts, so not being the lucky GHS recipient. Oh well. ;)
Seriously, Scott, you've been doing an excellent job on this site, both in keeping it up to date with new and cool features and with keeping the community motivated to post and discuss things. Having been a moderator on a different website before, I know how hard it can be to get people involved in a forum. And I wish I'd been more involved; I got an almost full time job, though, to pay the bills and such, that took over all my time, so I couldn't post and reply as much as I wanted to. Said job is ending on Saturday, though; so I'll be once again unemployed and able to post.
Merry Christmas, Scott, and Happy New Year.
Joshua Johnston
PS. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone else, too. ;)
Happy Holiday to everyone here and it has truly been an amazing year for this site. My hat off to Scott and the team for all their work and success. May 2009 be even a better year for this site and all those involved.
Good Morning Everyone-
It's the day after Christmas and it has stopped snowing at HypnoThoughts. For those of you with new and fast computers that's no big deal, but for those of you with the old and slower computers this will bring things back to their normal speed.
I checked the site from my parents house yesterday and was annoyed by how much the snow slowed things down for old computers like my mothers. I realized that wasn't a very nice Christmas present to anyone else with a computer that slow. So now that we're passed Christmas you guys can get back up to speed on here.
Enjoy.
We have more fun and surprises for you all soon. Happy New Year,
Scott
