Hi!

I have a question. I recentley hypnotized one of my friends but something very strange happened. As we were moving on from an eye fixation induction onto the stair deepening technique my friend told me he started falling into a "blackness". He said he enjoyed falling down into the blackness but he said he could not hear my voice and he was twitching very much. I tried to bring him out but he did not respond. Then he could hear my voice again and he went out of it. Later he told me that he wanted to stoop "falling" but he couldn't he was stuck inside. It made me think what could it possible be, was it a very deep state of trance or was it something else?

Hi Mike, It seems that your friend enjoyed his deep trance, sometimes clients discover how peaceful is hypnosis, and as they do they just let go into an escape mood, some people experience falling into a "blackness" as a form of falling a sleep, the brain knows when you sleep everything around you is dark and gradually it transforms into color, feelings and lucid dreaming or just into a dream mood. Same as falling a sleep, when you are deeply a sleep you can hear everything but your inner mind enjoys the relaxation, since it is much more important then what you hear, so the mind chooses not to hear you, but the subconscious still hears you.

The twitching was as a result of going deeper, but still holding on to a fear of what will happen now, the unknown.

Next time make sure you give him a suggestion that if he really wants to, he can come out and he can even open his eyes, you may have to repeat it few times.

Hope this helps, all the best.

How is your friend now?

This is great feedback.

What is your question?
Hi!

My friend is good now :) and he wanted more hypnosis later,he said it was a nice experience. The next time I did it to him it did not happen. And my question is that I just would like to know what it was as I have never read about something like this.

Here is my 2 cent's;

You are becoming a great Hypnotist, Your observations are right on point.

I'm glad he had a nice experience. Sometimes when we are in hypnosis we are NOT really aware of everything around us instead our mind chooses to pick and choose what it remembers.

An hour ago I just finished with a client and she did not remember much of the session in fact she told me she thought she slept through the session but when I counted up from 0-5 she opened her eyes, was alert and could not wait to make a lot of cold calls so I know the S.C. was listing to me.

My best observation: He went in to a deep state hypnosis, I want to believe your friend is 13 to 16 yrs, This is an amazing time in his life and it is in these ages that hypnosis can have a lasting experience and change lives. I only wish I knew hypnosis at that age.
Hi James!

Thanks for your reply. My friend is indeed 15 years old,and he did tell me he enjoyed it very much. I would really like to experience hypnosis myself (besides self hypnosis) because my friends tell me that it's one of the best things that they have experienced in their lives.

This is an easy fix.
Ask your friend to Hypnotize you.

It is so much easier practicing and learning when you have a friend with you.
If he is excited about the experience imagine how excited he would be when he gets a chance to hypnotize you. Have him start with a P.R. then and the staircase with pos. suggestions and then to wake.
(BTW) I remember My 1st time I taught a new person to hypnotize me. I let my 12 year old hypnotize me she suggested I talk like a Dog I forgot to tell her how to Dehypnotize me so I had to tell her how in "Dog" it was so funny I was barking while I was trying to talk (The harder I tried to speak the more I just barked) I don't remember laughing so much.
Don't worry you can't get trapped in Hypnosis and you will not do anything against your beliefs but you will have a great experience.

Keep trying stuff keep what works throw away the stuff that doesn't. This is a field you learn more by hands on training.
