HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

This is a link that I "stumble upon"ed.

There are a few articles that indicate how hypnosis has been used without question, or apparently even forethought, and negatively affected peoples lives.
Somewhat sobering to realize yet again, how no matter what we do, we often deeply influence the lives of others - using hypnosis or not!

Hi Stephen. It is an interesting site, but I see they have lumped hypnosis into Psuedo Science, so its not that well researched considering that hypnosis is no longer open to scientific conjecture. The regression therapies, well for the millions of people who have had them, like all of the other scaremongering on that site, only a miniscule percentage have had issues. I prefer the wisdom of the french psychologist Pierre Janet when he changed his opinion about hypnosis and said "The Only Thing Dangerous About Hypnosis Is That It Is Not Dangerous Enough"
Great link! Dr. Michael Yapko in his book Suggestions of Abuse discusses several of the same cases,
however you'll note the cases were largely licensed professionals that bought into the Multiple Personality/Repressed Memory stuff that combined hypnotic techniques with other memory and drug therapies to create false memories.
The legal convictions reversed by DNA just mention hypnosis as another technique used in the legal process, far less damning than false memory . Good stuff,Thanks, William
Excellent question. I haven't been to the site yet but I promise to check it out.
It has been my considered opinion for quite some time that hypnosis may be the most dangerous thing going on for earth based humanity.
Hypnosis is basically what runs our fiat money supply and our political system not to mention our religions.
It is the thing that keeps us from seeing the little "man behind the curtain".
As I write this Barack Obama is two days past the election. People seem to think that he is ethnically black. I must admit that he looks the part. I live in Dearborn Michigan in the midst of the greatest concentration of Islamic people in the country and 1/2 mile from the Detroit border, thickly concentrated with African Americans.
Looking at Obama from the perspective of who he represents, having just appointed Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff, I don't see any of my neighbors benefiting from his administration in the things that matter most to them.
Hi there

I know i'm only young, but i'm earger to learn.

To be honest hypnosis can be very dangerous in certain situations, ive read an article befor where two people was under the influence of hypnosis and lead to believ they was two cowboys in a "show down" but given a real loaded gun each. Well you most proberbly knoiw what happened next.

Chloe-Marie.
lol age doesnt matter Chloe.

And thats some food for the imagination there, After all we as the hypnotists create the reality of our subjects, we define it, they play by our rules, so we can help them or hurt them, lets all help shall we!

It's been a while since I gave that site any attention, but I wonder if it has an article on western medicine, cataloguing iatrogenic illnesses, surgical errors, pharmaceutical side-effects, and so on.

Relatively speaking, hypnosis is incredibly safe.
I am definitely on page with everyone's assessment of this site...I especially chuckled at the allopathic reference!
This site is definitely not the Pollyanna site for all things good. Adam nailed it to the wall in his posts on presupposition.
I was mostly amused at what the American Justice system will allow to ensure that some one takes the heat...
This presupposes that the public may feel safer if someone is put behind bars!
My own opinion is that no one act out against their unconscious morals and beliefs while in trance. MK Ultra experiments demonstrated this quite successfully. That being said, we all know that 'truth' can be dramatically reframed while in trance...some of us count on this. Unfortunately, this doesn't bode well for some of the people that were mentioned on the whatstheharm site!

Thanks for all the feedback, and keeping things interesting!

Stephen
