When Someone Asks you "What do you do", and you Say "I'm a hypnotist".....

What kind of reaction do you usually get?  I often have people immediately reluctant to look me in the eye once that is said, but if they do they are nearly hypnotized already would you agree?  They are immediately convinced that you have the ability to put them into a trance with just your look.  Sometimes they even turn their head and cover their eyes (while laughing of course), but it's obvious that they have beliefs that it could be done.

Most often I  would simply assure them that I'm not going to hypnotize them and that they would have to agree to be in order for me to do so anyways, but what if?

Not everyone reacts this way, but a significant percentage of people do. I'd say well over 50%.

I would agree that Michael is a medical hypnotist after attending the three day workshop that he and Scott Sandland presented in Seattle last year on hypnotic pain reduction. If you have a chance to hear either Michael or Scott present a workshop on hypnotic pain reduction, JUMP at the opportunity!

I have found using the term "medical" hypnotist changed the energy. People have preconceived ideas about hypnosis, but no one I was meeting had any idea what a "medical" hypnotist was/did and the word "medical" seemed to magically open their minds to my spiel about how medical hypnosis can help people feel and heal better -

I am at a a place in life, where people in professional and social settings often already know a "medical hypnotist" is in the house... It goes something like this: I'm "Mmmichael Ellner" and the person(/people) I am introducing myself to say something along the lines of "Oh, you're the hypnotist - I heard about you, blah, blah, blah.

Great way to generate clients...
