I'm wondering if anyone would be happy to share the websites they use to purchase royalty free music suitable for hypnosis MP3's..?

Much appreciated ;)

Thanks Victoria! These are also great leads.

While not full music, rather some really good samples that you can piece together, freesound.org has some awesome sound bites. Also check out jamendo.com everything on there is royalty free.

I use freesound.org for a lot of my loops and other tranquil effects I have on my audio tracks. They require that you provide attribution, but a simple text file is all that's needed. I usually have a README file anyway, so it's not a big deal.
I wasn't aware that you had to provide attribution. Do you have to provide attribution for each sample used?

Yeah. Everything there is Creative Commons Sampling Plus 1.0 Attribution Licenced. http://www.freesound.org/legal.php
You can see which loops you've downloaded by clicking on the Attribution link near the bottom on the left hand side of the page. You can then add in an attribution to your stuff however you like.

One of the CD's I find of particular interest is called Breath of Time

in which the listener can focus on gentle bells to breath in and

breath out while the therapist talks to the patient. The music has a

tempo of 60 beats per minute, and doesn't change so as to be a

presence without getting in the way of voice over work

*COUGH* here's a website to download songs for free: http://www.mp3s.pl/ *COUGH

This convo never happened ^_^

I don't know any site that would be ''suitable for hypnosis'', though.
In addition to the websites already mentioned, I've gotten some good stuff from Kevin MacLeod at http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/ He does request attribution and is interested in knowing how you're using his stuff, if I remember right. I've also made a couple pieces myself and plan to do more. I have one on my website for sale and it can be previewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZw51OZhpWM.

You might also want to look into downloading a free or free trial version of a music creation program like Fruity Loops, Mixcraft, Acid, etc. and using their libraries to make your own. Also, http://looperman.com has loops and tracks from all sorts of genres uploaded daily, made by users who usually have an unrestricted license on their stuff. Some of it is good, some of it is not; you can preview all tracks before downloading. Plus it's free. ;)
