Hi Lonnie,

 

Do not, do not, do not, rely on free hosting from Wordpress.com to host your business blog. The functionality (ability to use the best feature of Wordpress--third party plugins!) is extremely limited. You cannot host advertising on your site, though Wordpress.com can put their advertising on your site. And tech support is nonexistent.

 

I have used several different Wordpress hosts. So far, for a small business website, I like Bluehost the best. It is shared hosting, which is about $6 a month (paid annually). You can host an unlimited number of URLs on the same account. Tech support is wonderful, delivered in English, and available 24/7. They don't guarantee 100% uptime, but if you have a relatively low-traffic site, that's probably not an issue. And they're very Wordpress-friendly. I agree with Kathleen.  I use Just Host however if you are marketing a lot of products, including reseller of others Just Host is not that great at masking URLs (most people want sales from their pages to look like sales from their page otherwise visitors to your site can see where the original is and just go their direct thus cutting out your commission - it can be done with Just Host but requires talking to them - so I go via Go Daddy as well - if I need to use this facility on a web site).
