I have to say that I absolutely loved the complete handwriting class that comes with the full advanced course. It helps one immediately pick out whether someone is an E or P in both personality and sexuality. It also helps to find one's KEY to who they really are. What valuable insight that we Hypnotherapists give.

What are your thoughts?

Yep, it's good stuff. I think it's also a pretty cool diagnostic tool to see if progress is getting made... you can watch the handwriting begin to change over time.
Yeah, I have seen that happen as well. Just not that often as of yet. Give me more time. LOL
HI All,

Quite honestly, it hasn't helped my practice. Most people don't give enough information to do a complete analysis....and, I've found over time that much of what was learned at HMI was just the beginning. I mean, it helped me get started, I suppose....but, Hypnosis has gone "cutting edge" and HMI was only the first step. I don't do suggestibilty tests very often any more and use speed trance to get the client into Hypnosis to have more time to work on their issues. Success in that discipline has thrust me into Stage Hypnosis and Street Hypnosis....which, in turn has helped my private practice immensely. However, I can't think of more than one or two incidents where hand writing was helpful. I suppose it is a helpful skill to have, but in a clinical sense, I find it a little "klunky."
I have taken the HMI course and I don't think the handwriting test is even need it, truth is if you watch the persons' manerisms you'll be able to tell how suggestable they are, and you should have to do a sujectability test there are tones of inductions that use both methods....
I like it because people are not always honest with what they say and tell you. Sometimes the handwriting will reveal other things. I am not talking about just finding their suggestibility, but many things are shown just through handwriting. You can tell if someone is self centered, or clingy. . . just about everything. However, that portion does take more time to be involved with each client. This was only given in the advanced course, so anyone who only had foundations course wouldn't really understand the full benefits.

I understand about the handwriting analysis not being needed for inductions, but it sure helps when it comes to figuring someone out. This hits on deeper issues.

I don't use it a lot, but when I need to know more (for a deeper issue), I always have the client give me a sample. I then gain just a little more insight.... well worth the knowledge.

I also recommend for those who do love it, learning Gestalt handwriting analysis by Sheila Lowe. She is very good at this and does forensic type of handwriting analysis that is very impressive. I have become pretty good friends with Sheila and it's amazing the information you can gain by a persons writing habits, straight from the subconscious.

Lets not forget, our own handwriting is a shortcut to our own subconscious. Which is what the mental bank system is part based on. Good stuff there.

Blessings~
I admit that I was not much into handwriting stuff and very sceptical-- but:
I have started, just out of couriosity and since I put in the time to learn the stuff anyway, to ask clients for a handwritten description of the goals they want to reach in my mental training before 1st session, which gives me a chance to look at the handwriting without becoming outwardly esoterical or mentioning the word handwriting analysis-- also is a good starting point for pre talk.

I am becoming more and more of a handwriting analysis fan over time.
Some of the info I analysed out of it were astounding and turned out to be actually very accurate.
Thank you for sharing that....

I couldn't agree more. I was very excited to get that class included with the advanced program. I don't think any other hypnosis program includes handwriting analysis either. I consider it a bonus that is worth a lot more than it's given credit for.

Be well~
He does just brush over the info in the foundations course, because he doesn't want to give it all away for free. LOL

I think you will thoroughly enjoy the advanced portion of the courses, But then again..... I am biased. ;)
Hello Jill, I have been doing handwriting analysis since 1986 and became a hypnotherapist just this past July. I recently took the foundations course with HMI. I always analyze my clients handwriting before beginning therapy. I find it more revealing than the suggestibility questions from Dr. Kappas. Most of my clients seek help with smoking. Handwriting allows me to gauge determination, tenacity, honesty, addictive behavior, and maturity.
Handwriting analysis is a gold mine of information. It tells so much more than suggestibility and sexuality. It helps me get right to the heart of the matter. I find that it accelerates the therapeutic process by about 10 times because it doesn't take me as long to figure out what is really going on in some cases. It's also a great marketing tool. I just set up a booth and offer free handwriting analysis and they flock to me. I can't imagine practicing without it. I wish I had this tool years ago, for other reasons. I don't hire an employee or babysitter or anyone without seeing a handwriting sample.
Exactly, I have noticed that I pay more attention to everyone's handwriting... but, I can never figure out any doctor's writing, it's like they have their own code, readable only between them and pharmacies. Scratching my head on that one. LOL :)
Isn't that an indicator of "I dont care about what anyone else thinks"? LOL
