I'm a table games dealer, at least I can get my own business going. Last night I dealt to a lady on Pai Gow who kept forgetting to put up her bonus bet (it's optional). So I finally said, "Whenever I pick up your cards, that will be a reminder to you to think about your bonus bet for the next hand." And it worked, she only forgot once!!! I don't think that's hypnosis, but what would you call it?

Not a beginner, so this is ABSOLUTELY hypnotic suggestion. Watch The Mentalist. He uses these types of hypnotic suggestion ALL The time. If you ever get the opportunity to study with my mentor, the legendary Shelley Stockwell Nicholas, she will tell you that everything is hypnosis. Good job! You don't have to give a 20 minute induction for hypnosis to work.
I think you gave her mnemonic a tool used to remember something.
Was it. Also possible that you were rythmically dealing in front of her at the same time, then a pause looking at her giving her. A command. With an emphasis of another deal. See. Sean Michael Andrews doing" cochroach on a bar" quick induction. There could be some of those elements going on.

Especially since it was something she wanted she was receptive.

Yes, of course it has to be something she wanted. I just wanted her to remember on her own. After all, it's my job to entertain, not babysit. Some players say, "You have to remind me to put out my bet." Um, no I don't. That's their first responsibility!

On the other hand, I'd love to be able to "suggest" that they tip us every hand, but we have to consider ethics ;-)
