Readjusting to the so-called "normal" world after coming out of an abusive relationship, especially one where the victim has been progressively kept out of society for a period of time, can be a very difficult time for the survivor, especially in cases of emotional abuse.

Many victims will experience periods of paranoia-like worry and concern that their former abuser is following them around and will even, in some serious cases, hallucinate actually seeing their abuser on the street, in restaurants, at work and other places where the abuser is, demonstrably, not present.

Teaching the survivor to distinguish between fact and reality during the adjustment period is often difficult and emotionally draining for the client and the consultant.

Not to mention that, in many cases, an abuser MAY WELL come back to stalk or harass their former victim!

How would you, as a hypnotist, work with someone going through this adjustment process?
