There is more than one model for healing. The Therapist/Client model is well defined, but my experience has shown me that there is another one, where two (or more) people get together and help each…Continue

Comment by Patricia Reynolds Sorbye on June 26, 2011 at 5:46am Hello,
I am looking for a referral. I was contacted by a gent in the SF East Bay who speaks only Arabic. He's got social phobia and wonders if hypnotherapy can help him. He seems a very nice man, but my Arabic is too limited to use in sessions. Do you know any local hypnotherapists who speak Arabic? I said I'd reach out for him. Thanks for thinking of this!
Peace and comfort,
-Patricia

Comment by Melina Johnson on June 14, 2011 at 7:03am Hi everyone!
I am so happy I found this group. I've worked in the training field for over 15 years as an instructor and public speaker. I also had the chance to publish 3 books inBrazil (where I was born and lived most of my life). I have also lived in Mexico City and Phoenix (Arizona).
This past year I have created several support groups here in Oklahoma City, and I use hypnosis, EFT and NLP to help others become who they want to be. Hypnosis has always been my passion for as I have dedicated many years of my life studying the fascinating human mind, and the even more fascinating metaphysical field :)
I strongly believe that seeking knowledge is vital to the growth of any individual, and there is no better way to learn then the association with alike minds :)

Comment by Pushpa Narayan on March 27, 2011 at 12:26pm @teri@Lee, thank you both. Lee, even though the beta testing is for a new program not being featured at the expo, you have given me some good ideas to think about. Apart from one occasion, I actually don't do short term coaching. I see it as band-aiding, so all my clients are those who are committed to not only achieving goals and bringing about change but learning the tools.
But offering a draw for a 3/4 session prize towards a six month goal, yes. It will make for a interesting experiment.
I am also putting in a continual streaming video on large screen with some eye catching, emotion drawing ....stuff. I am really looking forward to this expo.

that is excellent advice you are sharing that is adaptable for others use also.
Pushpa, are you after some almost co-counseling feedback from
people with experience in ( spiritual ) self development here,
which could mean we'd be a good match,
if you'd like to see if we have the rapport you are looking for.
I have long broad experience of such, which I like to be of service from
and some ongoing big challenges
including time restraints, put positively time management
(hence my burning candle both ends and not being here much nowadays )
We can chat more personally in emails
I maybe able to recommend a couple of folk depending on what you are wishing for.
Comment by Lee Pelletier on March 27, 2011 at 4:33am Pushpaya, I have done a lot of health fairs, community events and women's events. When you go to the event you want to have as many as 5 services to offer and discuss, with the focus being the specail coaching program you mention.
Have a good brochure or handout on the program. The focus on WHY a woman would want that coaching. What are they going to have after you have coached them. Pick specific areas of concern to women in the market you are serving...no more than 5 benefits as main points, but you know there are as many benefits to what we do as there are potential clients. The reason for the 5 is that the mind can absorb the 5 units of information as the women scan your area.
The drawing, in my opinion, should be for the first phase of the program (say 3-4 sessions). The busy women you meet will not want a 6 month commitment from jump-street, so figure out a value that they can get in 4 sessions, and then have follow-on values that they can choose to add for succeeding time periods.
Make up business card size contest entries and have a fishbowl there. Invite the women to enter the drawing and perhaps put one life goal they would like to achieve this year on the entry. You must get, at minimum, their name, email address, telephone number and goal. You want the goal so you have a discussion starter.
If you give away a service that is too valuable, the winner will not take advantage. That is why I am emphatic that it be no more than 3-4 sessions.
In your follow-up emails you can create a discussion around the goals that the entrants put forward.
Remember, you know you are developing the program and beta-testing it, but it will be to your disadvantage, and more importantly, to the client's disadvantage for you to let them know that. For a client to get the most out of your services they need rapport, and to develop rapport they must believe they can trust you. To believe they can trust you they must believe that you are competent to deliver the service you are offering. If that means being a "Golden Globe" category actress, then, so-be-it. You can do anything for brief periods of time.
