Anyone ever read Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins. This is a book that was published back in 1986 but is an absolute wealth of information on NLP. I've read through about 150 pages of it and find Robbins writing style and tone to be very enthusiastic and compelling. As a master practitioner and trainer of NLP and hypnosis, I felt it to be invaluable to find someone as accomplished as Robbins credits NLP.

 

Something I read through today that I think is extremely powerful yet so simple that it gets easily overlooked when we are looking for solutions for our clients and for ourselves. Robbins says the following on page 152, "Without changing any of his internal representations, I can change the state of any depressed person in seconds. You don't have to look and see what pictures a depressed person is making in his mind. Just change his physiology, and zap, you change his state."

 

Robbins then challenges the reader to do an exercise. He says if you stand up straight, throw your shoulders back, breathe deeply from the chest, look upward and put yourself in a resourceful physiology, you can't be depressed. I was kind of hunched over reading this particular section so I stood up and changed my physiology and then noted how it changed how I felt. It works, simple as that.

 

I've used this with clients in my office both before an induction and after for those working on feeling really good about each day. Teaching the brain the physiology of excellence is such a simple way to increase results.

 

While Robbins' book is certainly dated, it is an invaluable book simply because it provides a roadmap for a serious practitioner of NLP on how to use these invaluable tools each day.
