anyone else using Skype with paying clients

I don't have any current clients via Skype, but I've done some business that way. I had a client once whose mic didn't work, so I had no feedback and was proceeding blind. Not a good way to work, lol. 

 

Yes, your guide would be of use to a lot of people, I think. You should go ahead and write it.

I'm using it with clients, and I find it just about as effective as in -person. Some people I work with are too far away and I've only worked with them via skype. I think something like you're descriving would be great. I have also used telephone, and that too was more effective then I thought it would be, bec with skype you can see the client's facial and state changes, but some people have better phone connections. Would love to talk more about perils and successes.

Yes, I have a thriving practice through Skype. That's what I initially thought this group was about.

So we therapists actually using Skype with clients should have our own group.

it wuld be a great idea ann.  pls do it there is not much info out there on the nuts and bolts of running a skype office - thilngs to be careful of great!   thanks

I have done a first draft of the guide to using SKYPE. I plan to publish it next week, but am offering a preview here to other therapists who ant to use SKYPE with clients. You can download it from my website

Congrats. The guide is great. Several items I hadn't thought of. Only 2 criticisms: there are a few typos and I object to you suggesting the client "awake" because he or she is not asleep when in hypnosis.

Ooops - I absolutely agree with you about using the term 'awake' I NEVER do it in practice - as you say the client is not asleep and it is just confusing. Thanks for pointing it out, I will change it.

Would you mind if I shared this link on one of the Facebook pages I manage? It looks like you did a good job of laying out how to use Skype and should take away the fear or nervousness someone might have about it.
