What have people notices are the key differences between a skype trance and an in person trance, in terms of how you conduct it, how the subject responds, etc?

Skype Hypnosis is very powerful but restrictive in obvious ways. If you are the kind of hypnotist the believes touch is not neccessary than there should be little differance for you, ... given the client has "good" equipment and you are not using a $10 walmart microphone. Myself, I have had to adapt what I do to a verbal only style so it was challanging in the beginning. Like all challanges however. I makes you stonger when you fight through them.

The main difference is in how interactive the session needs to be when using skype. I usually have the subject give me verbal acknowledgments and responses, rather than hope I can notice their reaction via the cam, and I use a different style of deepening techniques since things like the traditional Elman arm drop are not possible. Other than that.. its business as usual.

I hope this helps you

Please John if it's ok with you as I like your stile
Can you give more explanation and examples how it's done
I have my own idea how to do as I also do some time non touch trance
But it best to have more knowledge from those that have more practices
Thanx
Yosef

I would also like to read more from John and others who are experienced doing hypnosis using Skype as to the methods they use. Especially for hypnotizing someone who hasn't been hypnotized before.

I was trained in face to face hypnosis, with the emphasis on inductions using touch.

Are there any training articles, videos, mp3s, etc. which specifically address Skypnosis? Any other material that's that is particularly good for learning inductions and deepeners for Skypenosis?

As you can probably tell, I haven't tried hypnotizing anyone using Skype yet.

Text is often easier then voice...

Though I don't use Skype per se, my experience with phone and text hypnosis is applicable. Since I work mostly with voice-based hypnosis, it's pretty easy to work around the lack of touch. At first, I found that not being able to see the trancer can be unnerving, but in the end, it actually has built my confidence a lot--especially text hypnosis. See, you give a suggestion and just trust that it's taking full effect. I've found that once I developed that habit, it actually carries over to face-to-face hypnosis, making me that much more effective.

Don, how about you join one of the skypenosis group trances? You can probably learn a great deal from listening to all of the hypnotists who take turns in line.

By the way, whats your skype name, I'll add you to the skypenosis chat on skype.

Antonio

p.s. my skype name is emergeunited
