the Free Hypnosis Social Network
This group is for Full or Part Time Hoping to go Full Time Hypnotherapist Practitioners who are willing to share tips, ideas and ask questions of veteran Hypnotherapist :) Help me spread the word. I would like to keep this group as a 'pro-bono' mentality and not a forum to sell products or services. Just people willing to help others who have experience in the question or area asked. Together we can build, produce and change the world around us for the better of ALL people. It starts with being willing to GIVE.
We always get equal to the amount we are willing to give!!

Comment by Joe Homs on February 15, 2012 at 12:15pm Thanks for the invite Angela. I've got a gift for all of you guys. I recorded a 4.5 hour long interview with Igor Ledochowski, one of the biggest names in the field that you guys can use to help grow your business into something that sustains you full time.

Yes, there is an invitation at the end of these segments, but nobody is obligated to come to our seminar. This is all meant as free information to help anyone that really wants to get their practice into gear. These ideas have already helped people.
If anyone wants more information, you can message me on hypnothoughts by just clicking on my name. I'm happy to help.
The interview won't stay around forever and I'll keep it up for the next week, but don't wait to listen and get some good insights on building a business.
Comment by Juan Acosta on January 21, 2012 at 11:36pm Hi Angela,
Thanks for the invite to the group! - Here are some thoughts that I hope you'll find useful.
- What do you enjoy doing and are good at doing? (If you focus your talks on that you'll convey the confidence and knowledge)
- Think about marketing a solution instead of the actual hypnotherapy. Your efforts may be better received if you market "Quit Smoking!" than if you say "I'm a hypnotherapist and I can help you quit smoking"
- As far as organizing your talks... I find it very useful to have a visual aid to organize my ideas and then I create a simple bullet point outline as to not lose my place and stay on track. I use a mind-mapping program called FreeMind. It's free... google it, download it and play with it. I can ALMOST guarantee you'll love it for this and other purposes.
- I agree with Michael that corporations are all about health oriented topics and anything that may increase the productivity AND well-being of their group. Stop smoking and Stress management being the top 2 in my opinion. Weight loss is alright but as far as marketing is concerned the benefits of Smoking cessation and stress mgmt are more obvious, sooner...
- How to cover the topics is a matter of your desired outcome. I normally do a quick intro, followed by a 20-30 minute session or so (obviously depends on what exactly you're doing) and finish with: a) an offer they can't refuse for other services, b) sale of recorded reinforcement products, c) some great suggestions about performance improvement with a simple resourceful anchor. The finish depends on what is appropriate for the company and what your business model is.
Hope that helps a little. Best of luck!
Juan
Comment by Angela J Jessee on January 19, 2012 at 9:51am Thank you Michael. I already have a very close friend who has every connection a person can possibly possess in De (only 10 min from me I am in Md on the chesapeake bay:) ). I know getting speaking time at various places will not be difficult.
I suppose I was asking if anyone is willing to specifically SHOW me how they organize their speaking events to the public.
Does that make sense? I am an excellent speaker but I can't say I am excellent at preparing and especially in a field I am now head into.
Comment by Michael White on January 18, 2012 at 6:52pm Major corporations like healthy employees. If you can market yourself as someone who can help people lose weight, live healthier lives, balance work and lives, etc. I think corporations would be interested. Maybe consider working with someone who already has an "in" at companies, like a yoga instructor. You can market yourself as "Mind Yoga" or something like that. Just some thoughts...
Comment by Angela J Jessee on January 18, 2012 at 4:45am OK QUESTION for you veterans :) I put this on the board but not much response.
I will copy/paste here
Ok I am actively setting up speaking engagements as we speak within a 20 mile radius. I am utilizing a friend of mine who is a local social guru and works for major corporations and let's just say, he is HUGE in my county and the next one over in Delaware.
SOOOO
Questions:
1. What should I cover?
2. HOW should I cover it?
3. What is the most effective way to pitch myself to the organizations interested in me speaking?
Keep in mind, hypnotherapy is a foreign concept around here. I find two extreme reactions while testing my market....1. Completely curious and enthralled 2. Totally turned off to anyone messing with their head LOL.....not to mention where I live is predominately judeo-xtian and that alone brings enough bias around here anyway.
OH BTW I WILL be posting on the thread in regards to spirituality in the private practice etc....I just have to think of a way to condense my intense thoughts on that issue :)
ALL YOUR time and help I am VERY thankful for. I am very confident in my ability to speak, I am a little scattered on WHAT to zone in on that would bring the most attention and people out. Marketing is a VERY strong point but have never obviously done it within this field :)
I can not just say something like "Benefits of Hypnosis" etc....I kind of need to be slick to where I am NOT misleading but giving a benefit 'bone' if you will without TOTALLY devulging my ultimate purpose.
THANKS AGAIN :)
