Does anyone have suggestions for GROUP TRAUMA REVERSAL approaches? Something that will be effective in a group workshop setting, rather than 1:1 hypnosis?

Has anyone used a trauma reversal method with a group?

I'm going to be doing a hypnosis workshop for recovery from stress and trauma in Toronto where many people in the community just experienced the police riot at the G20 Summit. The city was placed under marshal law and many people were detained under harsh conditions with harassment and verbal abuse. Even for people who were not detained, most everyone reports being traumatized by the militarized presence in their community.

I have been invited by some people in the community to offer this and would appreciate some ideas for group processes.

Thanks so much for any thoughts,

Samuel

Bless you for helping, Samuel. I did a talk that from the book, "The Worst is Over". Although my talk was more about how people can handle traumatic events in the future, there is a lot to be gleaned from the book--like, people in shock are also in hypnosis. I bet you will be able to find ways of reframing the event to a positive slant in a group setting with the help of this book info.

Thanks CindyLou:
I have the book The Worst is Over and love it. I used it in a training I did for patient/family advocates at an area hospital. Great idea! Thanks!
