Healing the Healers---
A
new friend and advanced student shared
that in 48 hours she was scheduled to have her spine replaced (her 10th
major surgery!) She was in pain today and in fear of tomorrow.
During the next break, I asked her to consider volunteering for a "live
and real" demonstration of pre-surgery hypnosis and offered her a
complimentary private session just in case she preferred a private session. She
immediately agreed to the demonstration and we did it the next day...
This just came in:
"Hi Everyone,
I
just wanted to let you know that D--- had her major back surgery (got a new
spine) on Sept. 20th and came home from the hospital a couple of days ago. They
had her up walking within 24 hours, I believe.
She
attended Michael Ellner's (and Robert Aurbach's) classes on Sept.18 & 19.
The 2nd day, she acted as a demo for Michael and he gave her suggestions
regarding the upcoming surgery. This was her 10th surgery and although it was
very major surgery, the surgeon said it was by far the best (easiest) and was
truly amazed at how well it went (I remember Michael telling her that she
yielded like warm butter, without any resistance or stress). The 6 1/2 hours of
planned surgery was completed in less than 3 1/2 hours. When she told the
doctor that she used hypnosis he affirmed that it was a wonderful tool/aid in
the medical field, so I guess (as an RN) she has her foot in the door for
practicing medical hypnosis on patients in the future."
I love my "job"!
