Hi Anders,

 

Each country, region, state, and city can vary.

 

In many cases, I would offer a number of free "Sample" sessions to people.  I am brainstorming here in general ways.

 

Let's say you want to work with folks who want to Quit Smoking with Hypnosis (talk like normal people are already thinking, not immediately using the Hypnotherapist words we use like cessation.).

 

Get business cards made.

Got networking events, hand your card out, "I help people stop smoking successfully, quickly and easily.  If you know anyone who wants to stop smoking before the end of the year, have them phone/email me."

 

Offer small group workshops.

While you are cutting your teeth as a practitioner, one of the most important things to do is to interact with clients often and get many people being delighted with working with you. This both builds your confidence and it builds your word of mouth referrals. 

 

Have a monthly group time, weekly or every other week.  Something that is regular.  Post flyers (typically cheap to do).  At your local college/university where there are always plenty of young people who smoke.  And they all know each other.  You can offer a special "student pricing" rate to them.  Again, the goal is paid practice for you and many people interacting with you.

 

Offer another group: Try Hypnosis

The first Monday evening of the month (or whenever you have your office space and it works well with your local calendar).  Introduce hypnosis EACH session.  Cover a different hypnosis topic each month.  Flyers.  Biz cards.

 

Every errand you run, smile and lightly chat up the person waiting on you like the teller at the bank and hand them your card about stopping smoking. 

 

Find some local groups like AIDS support groups, visit with your cards.  Do a free Pain Reduction session for the group and special pricing to the groups' members for 1 on 1 sessions.  You might form a group for them that meets every Tuesday night for a group member price each.
