I have magnets on my vehicle and my daughters (yes she "allowed" me to advertise on her car). I have had 2 calls from her car and 3 calls from mine. 2 resulted in clients.

It's a moving billboard. I work at a local hospital and just having my vehicle parked in the lot everyday is great publicity.

So give it a try. They are very inexpensive.

Hy Shirley,

thanks for sharing this idea. I also thought about magnets.....but then questions like what about:

- what will be the maximum speed you can drive with that magnet?
- does it really look like a foil not like a magnet (not to provoce some stupid youth to steal it)

came into my mind and maybe you could help.

thanks

Andreas
As far as speed, I can attest to 80 mph. (highway) That's my top speed. (LOL)

I am not sure what you mean by foil. As far as silly youths, no such problems as yet. I bought the manget at vistaprints and it was only about $14.99. So inexpensive enough to be replaced if needed.

(After looking at the picture) Actually, the magnet is white with black lettering. The picure may make it look like foil.

I saw that also at vistaprint, and they say it looks like a foil (thats why i questioned that) will it look like magnet the chance may be high to ripped off.

Thanks for the info...i will go and get it.

Greetings

Andreas
I also have cheap vistaprint magnets on my car! As Shirley says, it's a moving billboard. My car gets seen all over the place.
Only this morning, the assistant at the vet stopped me and asked me about my job as she'd seen my car in the car park.
ROI on these things are fantastic. Got the cheap ones from Vistaprint and they are lighter/thinner and less durable than similar ones from Build-a-sign, but more aesthetically pleasing. I am cautious about driving w/ them at high speeds because I think one (from Build-a-sign) flew off on the expressway during a rainstorm. Could've been bad news if that hit a car's windshield behind me!

I don't think stupid youth are a concern in terms of these magnets, in my neighborhood they'd rather slash tires or smash windows in their youthful exuberance (them or the crack-heads). But one downside: depending on your driving habits, it's harder to make a getaway anonymously.

edit: PS. never buy anything from Vistaprint without using one of the many coupon codes at the end of their web address, example --- www.vistaprint.com/bizcard (not sure if that works anymore).
This might seem obvious to some, but do check your car is metal! I have a local hypno friend who has a fiberglass sedan and she is really upset that she can't take advantage of the cheap advertising!
I take them off if the weather is bad - no one can read them in downpour anyway! LOL

Received 2 more calls from the magnets!
About a year ago, I got magnets from Vistaprint and used one of their templates to design them. These are my observations:

1. The print on the template was way too small and was set up to load too much information onto the sign. I designed my own on the next run.

2. While the signs did stay on the vehicle even in severe storms, they eventually started wearing out--the print began literally flaking off. About the time I was thinking it was time to order some more, first one sign and then the other blew right off my truck. Admittedly, they were cheap enough that replacing them annually is okay, but I decided to step up to some larger, simpler door magnets I got from supercheapsigns.com

Since I have a camper on my truck, I added big advertising decals to the windows just a few days ago. There's not much missing my ad now! Makes me tempted to just park my truck in prominent locations around town . . .

Thanks for the door magnet link, James. Where did you get your window vinyls done?
I ordered my window vinyl decals from a friend in your neck of the woods, Synapse. (In fact, you probably met her in passing at that Shindig.) Her name is Lauren, and her email address is artcat81 AT gmail DOT com. She did an awesome job with my decals--took the time to work with me on the design, really shopped around to get me the best deal possible.

Tell 'er I sent ya,

James

I use magnets too and am receiving calls.

I got mine from VistaPrint pretty cheaply. I kept my text at a minimum so I could enlarge my phone number.
