How to build a private practice!

You can have a full time, successful and financially beneficial private practice. I spent 34 years in private practice, in three states and two countries. I would love to share my knowledge and expertise with others. Zoilita Grant MS. CCHt.

I reply with my prices and a bit more information about my practice. I encourage them to call me and give me some information about what they would like to accomplish. I often book clients who have sent a price only inquiry. And those who don't book, well, I'm not the cheapest in the area and if that's important to them they can keep shopping. I think the key is to show genuine interest in them and their issue and price may become secondary.

any tips on the best way to handle email messages asking for pricing?

Hello Everyone,
I have a question for those who have done stage shows especially in high schools and colleges. I have put my show together with skits, music, and sound effects, thanks to the help from Dean. I am going to buy a sound system with a wireless mic within the next 10 days. Now for the question, how do I get a high school or college to allow me to perform, even for free (to obtain a promotional video) if necessary without a promotional video? Also what type of printed material would you recommend, brochure, flyer, ect.? Looking forward to your answers and advice.

Yes. It is a great induction in many ways.

I am a researcher and when I first learned hypnosis I watched many different videos and visited many different web sites as well as took several dvd courses. But I have never learned as much as I did when I listened to the Elman tapes. Listening to those doctors hypnotize one another under Elman's guidance and tutelage was enough to sell me on his techniques. It just appears to me now that everything I see others do was originally discovered or taught by Elman. Elman certainly takes the mystery out of it and he covers all the bases from instant inductions to age regression therapy and more. Having said that I will admit that it takes a commitment of time to go through Elman's book and listen to the tapes. I read his book everyday till I finished it and listened to his tapes every night while in bed using my Ipod. I totally immersed myself into his work and I must say I am more confident and competent now than after all the other training because now I feel I got it from the original source and not just some modification of his methods.

Agree David, the more I use Elman's classic induction the more I like it!

I play with cutting it down as much as possible to see what results I will get!

I have just finished reading Dave Elman.s Hypnotherapy book from cove to cover and I am half way through all his tapes on his Medical Hypnosis Course for doctors. I don't think you can get any better real life training than what Elman offers. I have used the flashier instant and rapid inductions, but the other night I hypnotized two guys setting beside me in a bar by simply telling them to close their eyes and then I went through the paternal Elman induction and they both went right into somnambulism. After I emerged them they both ask for my card and inquired about how I could help them with problems that were bothering them. Then others who were watching ask for my card also. People in bars are potentially very good clients.

I find that when I am out doing shows or performing in bars I am always being approached by people wanting to inquire about therapy sessions. Shows and demonstrations attract people and it gives them confidence in your ability to hypnotize them. The reason I know this is because they tell me so.

Agree 100% Ian. Difference between the intentions of

"I want to let my hair down" - and watch self and pals bark like dogs/run like chickens
And
"I was raped as a kid and have been abused with violence allmy life and don't know how to get help as I am ashamed."

IMO!
