HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Greetings! I have studied Hayashi-Ha shito-ryu karate (traditional Okinawan style) for nearly 8 years, just about as long as I have studied hypnosis. I have a shodan (first degree) black belt and love to train and help teach at our dojo at the Tim Salerno School of Karate-Do in Mount Vernon, WA.

I use self-hypnosis and NLP in many ways to further my karate skills. You can imagine the self-doubts and trepidation I faced as a 43 yr old donning a gi (karate uniform) for the first time!

I look forward to exchanging ideas and stories here.

Ossu! (A Japanese word signifying "hello", "goodbye", "acknowledgement")

You can find the links to my martial arts stuff at www.sandiegoblackbelt.com

Welcome, David. It's an honor to have you here. Feel free to start up or add to any discussion. Readers may be interested in your personal journey; for example, which came first for you: your interest in MA or in hypnosis/NLP? Or, perhaps you have a great story involving how you used mental strategies to accomplish physical goals?

I look forward to learning from you! Kelley (off to check out your blog...)

Hi David,

I glad to have you join this group. With your background in Ryukyu Kempo and Kyushijitsu, as well as NLP and Hypnosis,I was wondering about your take on Dillman senseis "No touch knockouts". I belief is that conversational hypnosis plays a large part in what he is doing. Looking forward to your reply.

Hello everyone! I'm Lester Salvador, and my primary martial practice is the Filipino Martial Arts, specifically the blade art of Tatang Antonio Ilustrisimo, as taught by Mang Rey Galang (Bakbakan Kali) and the late Mang Topher Ricketts (Kali Ilustrisimo). I also have a background in Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, Atienza Kali, and Inosanto Kali. Apart from FMA, my primary focus for the past decade has been WW2-era Close Combatives as taught by the late Shihan Carl Cestari (both unarmed and armed combat). It's kind of funny when I think about all the stuff I have been exposed to, and the folks I have had the good fortune to train with, folks like Marcus Wynne, Dan Inosanto, Ralph Grasso, Clint Sporman, John Jacobo, Doug Marcaida, Carl Atienza, Tony Blauer, Rich Dimitri, Richard Chen, the late Akko Nishimura, Master Sam Chin, and many, many others...from JKD, Thai boxing and Indo-Malay Silat, Wing Chun, Karate and Japanese Jujutsu, Kenjutsu, Chinese internal arts (I-Liq Ch'uan), Western Fencing and military CQC, etc....I have been very lucky, indeed.

As for my "trainers in hypnotic trancework" (so to speak), I've been (again!) exceedingly lucky: Marcus Wynne, Doug O'Brien, Igor Ledochowski, Anthony Jacquin, Mark Cunningham. I'm still learning, still growing in eloquence, skill and power, and making good friends along the way...I'm loving the journey utterly, going further and deeper with every breath.

All best, everyone--and stay safe!

Hi,

My name is Jeff Jordan and I'm the world's tallest grappler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD4hUZ-H72M. I have been training BJJ and grappling since 2004. I recently had a meniscus surgery in June of 2011 and I've been rehabilitating my knee since then. I currently live in Las Vegas, NV and I have gained the bulk of my hypnosis training from Freddy and Anthony Jacquin of the UKHTC. I am a firm believer that hypnosis is an ideal compliment to exceptional sports performance and I appreciate the chance to learn and share with this group.

Thank you,

Jeff
