For those of you interested in doing some type of “virtual lap band” weight loss with your clients, I highly recommend that you look at the Hypno-Band program by John Maclean. I did a good amount of research before deciding on the Hypno-Band program and, after using it with my clients, am convinced that I definitely made the right decision. It’s extremely well thought out and comes with everything that you could possibly need from scripts (which are very customizable…including scripts for reinforcement cd‘s) to a suggested pre-talk, all client forms and “homework, great marketing materials, logos, posters, a practitioners manual, and even sound effects for your sessions…..all downloadable. Although you’ll need to be licensed by Mr. Maclean in order to use his materials, the licensing fee is very reasonable. Licenses are granted on a geographic basis and Mr. Maclean apparently does not want to have practitioners too close together which means that depending on where you practice, you may or may not be granted a license. Also, I understand,a large percentage of the licensing fees goes to charity.
What I liked most about becoming associated with Hypno-Band is that I didn’t have to travel to a seminar and pay for airfare, hotel, food, etc., plus a seminar fee. Just a very reasonable (almost ridiculously reasonable) fee and you’re set. The materials are above top-notch. Plus his website and Facebook page are frosting on the cake as you can direct clients to them for information on the program! You can check out his website at www.hypnoband.com or search for Hypnoband on Facebook. He also has a great online forum for all Hypnoband practitioners where you can get answers to virtually any question you might have concerning the HypnoBand program.
The Hypno-Band program is extremely easy to understand and absorb. If you're doing weight loss, this is a great tool to have in your tool box. I highly recommend it.
No, I don’t work for John Maclean nor have I ever met or spoken to him. I’m just very impressed with his Hypnoband program and feel like letting others know.

I would suggest you go to www.hypnoband.com and you will be able to get most, if not all of your questions answered. Anything else you might not find on their website can be found by emailing them. They do try to limit the number of practitioners in each area so I'm not sure what they would say about having a fourth one in your area. Good luck.

I'm very interested in this program. Can you tell me what resources you used for your research? I'd like to find out as much as I can about it. Also, I checked, and there are 3 practitioners in my immediate area that are licensed to use this program. Is there information about how many is too many when it comes to having too many of us with licenses? I'd like to get it, but not if everyone can get it!
Permalink Reply by Christine Green on February 4, 2011 at 6:57am Debbie, As this post is over a month old, don't know if you contacted Hypno-band or not. I am a licensed practitioner of the Hypno-Band program and it is fantastic! I highly recommend it for all of the reasons Bill stated above. It has research, support and integrity and I like that it is takes a behavioral approach that is incorporated into the programming-something that many physicians omit when they do the gastric band surgery. A patient who gets the gastric band surgery but doesn't deal with food issues is in for an emotional roller coaster with eating when their stomach shrinks and their cravings have not! Please feel free to contact me to share your ideas.
