the Free Hypnosis Social Network
A little about things:
I am certified with the IMDHA, have had a small private practice in both Michigan and Florida. To be totally honest I've had some issues getting my self going in different areas. I do feel that there is a subconscious block with the thought of sitting in an office all day. I love hypnosis, I love performing and being in front of an audience! I am making the switch to stage work!
Looking for any and all advice I can possibly have. I got lots of good info from the thread here, in this gourp. Marketing ideas, training, insurance companies, contacts etc.
Hypnosis trained, stage trained, toastmaster trained, some business experience...SO READY FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!

We graduated hundreds of really talented hypnotist, both clinical and stage, but less that ten percent were successful in the hypnosis business. Hypnosis is a BUSINESS and must be treated as such. Loveing hapnosis and being really good at it doesn't result in a successful business. Great marketing results in success. Hope this helps, Don Rice

It sounds like you are on the right track... It seems most people I know who are successful in their careers do not just focus on hypnosis. They may be psychologists who use hypnosis or stage hypnotists who also have a private practice. or nurses who also do hypnosis. I was doing soul path astrology before going to school for hypnosis, the two fit together well..If someone comes for an astrology reading and we see issues then I suggest how hypnosis can assist them.. or the other way.. if they come for hypnosis then after hearing what they want to resolve I suggest looking into their astrological chart..and if I see past life trauma/karmic debt then we may do a past life regression... I have also added using Young Living therapeutic grade oils to enhance the hypnosis process. The oils have been a nice addition and bring in a nice little monthly check.
There are all kinds of combinations but I do feel that hypnosis in conjunction with other modalities is probably most successful.
My hypnosis instructor, Kevin Hogan did say find a niche area, as his is tinnitis, and become the national "expert" then people with a need in that area will find you.
All the best to you.

Permalink Reply by James Szeles on August 13, 2011 at 12:50pm Dan its a fun way to make a living and travel. Start with learning a good stage induction and it doesn't have to be an instant induction. Learn the mechanics of setting up the pre talk and pacing of your skits so they start from easy to hard then hardest. You will find a free stage hypnosis training section here so the cost is your time. If you ever have any questions ask away.

Permalink Reply by Dan Perez on January 9, 2012 at 1:47pm Dan, as I have learned from my own decision to become a stage hypnotist, doing the shows is the easy part--you must focus on the business side of the equation to make it work and see success. There are good resources here and on Geoff Ronning's Stage Hypnosis Center website.
