This is kind of a techie question. Some of the newer 3G phones, such as the iphone can be set up to stream music via bluetooth 2.0 to stereo head phones. The iphone particulaly fits well in my hand and with it's touch screen and clear display it is easy to quickly select my show music. I have stored my show music on an ipod and have used it with a remote control to do a canned (scripted) show. However it occurs to me that if I could stream my music directly from my hand to the amplifier/ mixer I use, then I would have very flexible control over my music and eliminate the need for a show-tech or virtual soundman type device. Has anyone in the group used a Bluetooth receiver to stream music directly from an Iphone or an Ipod. What receiver did you use. What was your experience?

If the date on that first post is correct, this is a long overdue answer, but I just saw it so maybe this will help someone.

I use something similar, here is my setup.

Wireless Router (no internet required, just a router so two wireless devices can be connected to the same network)

iPad with my potential show music, and an app called "Tango"

iPhone with "Tango" app

connect iPad and iPhone to the wireless router (much greater range than bluetooth) - plug iPad into sound system - fire up Tango app on both, and your iPhone is now a remote control for the iPad - complete control.

the only issue I've had with this so far is if i put the phone in my slacks pocket, my leg will start songs when I don't want them... so I quit putting it in my pocket.  Either lay it down on a chair or stick it in one of those arm-bands they make for joggers to keep it out of the way.  I like not needing someone to run my sound.

Enigma whats the range of Bluetooth? Some times my sound system is in the back of the room, and I'd love to find a reason to buy an IPad.
