Even knowing the producer of the show you are saying these people are paying 1000.00 a plate so keep everything very professional and do not do any of your material off stage.

Thanks Richard and Justin.  I should have mentioned that the people at the pre-party are not the same people that are at the show. I had already explained that to Richard in a earlier conversation.

My show is for the company that puts on the main event.  The opportunity is there to promote my show with the various companies that pay $1,000 a plate at the main event.  They each buy a 10 seat table for their company, and more than that for the tables closest to the stage area.  Since I am good friends with the producer of the main event there is no problem with me giving out cards or discussing my shows.

Absolutely do not do any hypnosis, convincer's or suggestibility tests off stage. If you are in a professional environment act like a pro. Only deliver your material on stage.

Use your time mingling to get to know the crowd, gather names, make eye contact, banter a few jokes, when asked to hypnotize someone just smile and say I would love you to volunteer when the show starts...

One, most corporate events are very, very strict on entertainer behavior.

That also means you must have permission to hand out your business card.

You have to be careful about any sort of drinking as well.

Do not bore the crowd with sales pitches or information on hypnosis, if someone asks smile, and say that's a great question and I will be talking about that on stage so don't miss the show!

Imagine if they hired a professional singer and while they had their cocktail party she started belting out tunes off stage and outside of her time slot..

It would be rude and distracting never mind the cats now out of the bag and any mystery surrounding her performance is gone...

Also imagine being on stage and getting your show started when some other act in the crowd starts doing his or her thing and suddenly you find yourself fighting to get your crowds attention..

Mingle and network and once the show is over shake hands and if permitted give a card or let them know how to find you online...

Always get permission..

John,

I would gauge your audience very quickly and if they are allowing a roaming showcase or artist to walk around performing may be you can do some suggestibility tests like the Hand clasp or arms raise and fall to small groups. You could also perform an instant and rapid induction on guests but just remember the pre talk for this and introduction is essential.

You could also discuss benefits to an organization of hypnosis, for example having stress free more rested employees or for improving your golf swing or maybe reducing the smokers in the company-- I like the wow factor of rapid speed trance (Yes there are a million names for this) but you know what I mean!!

I have a large event to do in Washington D.C. next month.  My show is part of a much larger event and there is a pre-party where there is an opportunity to mingle and do some hypnosis demonstrations.   The types of people that are at this event are celebrities and very successful business owners along with up to 10 of their top people.   What types of demonstrations would you do in a setting like this.

Just hosted another hit this weekend - the audience was primarily ages 4 - 9 years old, so my volunteers were all little ones, with one father, a man in his 40's in the middle of the group. I kept him seated, no dancing, no need to step on little feet with bigger feet, LOL.

awesome thanks Tommy and John-- that was my thoughts to pick up the pace and focus on instant and rapid inductions and some group routines. --

Richard, this shorter gig needs to be abbreviated. A quick intro, a quicker induction and then routines. I would, since this is corporate, not worry too much about abbreviating your induction. This part is important and I would treat the corporate audience much differently than a college group.

I hope this helps. I say, do it and expect great results.
