This discussion is for anyone interested in Stage or street training... WHat do you want to see what, are you looking for....

John teaches Speed Hypnosis, Sean Teaches Speed Hypnosis, I teach it as well... There are a few different instructors out there however you are the consumer.

I would love your particapation in this group to act in part as a focus group.. with that in mind here is a link to a clip from our new series Breaking the rules  http://www.vimeo.com/11606755

Now the material is raw and I have cut out the pretalk on all but one piece however I want to know what you want to see on a training DVD.

Also what scares you about speed hypnosis...?

do you want step by step breakdowns of technique or just live footage.?

If you dont use rapid inductions why???

Well I will let everyone else come up with more questions and I am sure this will be educational for everyone.

I use rapid and instant inductions for different venues. What I want to see on a training video is all the whole procedure from start to finish. Then want to see live demonstrations, with people of different ages, in different circumstances. I want explanations of why something is or is not done...why the pre-talk contains what it does or does not, why people are sitting or standing, etc. I want to understand the essence of the method that is used. Denise Oatley Hall aka Ms. Hall
I agree with Denise, if someone would take the time to really do an in depth break down of the steps would be great. Also, a discussion of the number of people that achieve deep trance this way and how many dont even go under.
OK so I am going to label these out. and ask some questions to get a better feel for what is wanted..

1. the whole procedure from start to finish. ? Just the induction??

2. live demonstrations, with people of different ages, in different circumstances.. ?? Please give examples of different circumstances and age ranges???

3.explanations of why something is or is not done..

4. ...why the pre-talk contains what it does or does not

5. why people are sitting or standing... ? Explain please??

6. to understand the essence of the method that is used

7. an in depth break down of the steps would be great.

8. a discussion of the number of people that achieve deep trance this way and how many dont even go under.

For this Project this was not the first filming in fact we had filmed in Annapolis Maryland in the spring of 09. Sean Michal Andrews can confirm I do not follow the rules......

Although I had great material I did not feel I had enough and I wanted clean material... (I.E. No other Hypnotists nor had this been done before in the area I performed)

So I had to set up, get volunteers, hypnotize them and then perform like any other street busker might. I also did not use a Mike or have any sound reinforcement.. (Cued Music) . I did not ask for money either.

Success rate was 100% with volunteers and about 80% with getting good phenomena. I.E active halucination. The other 20% were great sleepers.. (tell them to sleep and they were gone.) Still that meant that the majority of volunteers performed well.

As for those who would argue my claim of 100% Hypnotized.. Here is my thought process. If you do a good job on volunteers with selection and pre talk then there is no reason that you should not get 100% of them hypnotized...

However my personal litmus test is can I get phenomena! Catelepsy, amnesia, negative halucenation? If all I get is catelepsy and they sleep on command then I was succesful.. Howver to truly count for me I need identifiable phenomena.

Now failure is when you do an induction and someone looks at you and goes... Not... And if you set things up right that will not happen often...

If you are poor on volunteer selection then your failure rate will rise exponetially....

So what other questions or material do you guys want to see...?

And BTW. Thank you Denise and Rick for your replys.
Having looked at a number of different DVD's, to date I have found Richard Nongard's and John Cerbone in their training of stage hypnosis to come the closest to what you are seeking Denise.

Still not everything you would wish for, but worth purchasing.

I beleive the DVD is called "Nongard Training For Stage Hypnosis" but not being in US right now, I cannot be 100% certain on the title.

I hope this helps a little Denise.
Hi Joscleyne. Yes Richard and John both provide programs however this discussion is based more as a focus group to get a better Idea of what you as a consumer of these types of videos may want... That information will assist all of us in providing you with a better product.

I wanna see more, This is the kind of videos I like because it is random people unlike some of the training videos where they are just using other hypnotist. Makes it seem alot more real with strangers in a street setting.
