Thanks for the post Richard. I have hosted shows here in the US with people of 4 years of age (funny how different those responses are when compared to an adult with the same routines) to people in their late 80's.
I've had from the audience, collaterally Hypnotized as young as 3.5 years (that little girl was emphatic about that half year post show, as kids that age are) and have worked in a wide variety of places, under a really wide variety of conditions, including rain outdoors, rooms with terrible acoustics, and on an on. In Jr. High School shows and High Schools, the school generally green lights my work with the kids.. In session work with kids under age, I have a parent accompany them in session and a special intake sheet where their parent or legal guardian signs the intake sheet for them.
Thanks for a good post.

Here in Quebec we have only one law and that is not to hypnotize under the age of 14 without parental consent in show or for clinical therapy other then that nothing here

Anyone have a second-hand wireless mic they'd like to go to a good home, where it will be lovingly cared for and incorporated into fun hypnosis shows?

Scott:
Every time I've heard mention of that series of laws, I was saddened and somewhat unhappy.
You might want to establish a coalition of Hypnotists to pressure your politicians to repeal that law, or tweak it to at least make some sense of it. There also seems to be quite a bit of controversy over how and if that law is deployed and enforced. Recently I heard we had repealed a law in Indiana preventing the practice of Clinical Hypnosis, which will take effect in July.
Any law instated, can also be taken down. Has there ever been a push to do so?
Trance On!

Hi fellow performers,

You lot on the other side of the pond are lucky, in the Uk we are regulated by Hypnotism Act 1952 as well as the Licensing act 2003 which came in to full force in 2005. Add to that a fee for application of a performance of hypnotism licence, that have to add to what you charge to the client.

Although there are ways to legally circumnavigate around these restrictions.

Warmest Regards

Scott
