As the world grows more connected and we can communicate with people across the globe more easily, it gets progressively more interesting to explore the boundaries of global communication.

Text, voice and video chat are giving us different possibilities to communicate in different ways with millions of people. This makes them an interesting platform for hypnosis for purposes like these:

People who are interested in experimenting with different forms of hypnosis can do just that in this group, even if they would never physically meet each other.

I am looking for a referral. I was contacted by a gent in the SF East Bay who speaks only Arabic. He's got social phobia and wonders if hypnotherapy can help him. He seems a very nice man, but my Arabic is too limited to use in sessions. Do you know any local hypnotherapists who speak Arabic? I said I'd reach out for him. Thanks for thinking of this!

it's great to hear that the internets are working out so wonderfully for you. I think that there are both advantages and disadvantages to doing voice-only (or even text-only) hypnosis stuff, and you seem to be doing a great job of steering around the disadvantages. It's probably good for your skills in other types of sessions, too.

Comment by Brittany on May 25, 2011 at 1:27am: I've only just started out with hypnosis. Within my second week I was hypnotising friends and family over skype. It's much easier for me as I am currently living in a country where I am not fluent in the language. So being able to do hypnosis over skype successfully feels great. I usually do a session of 15 minutes to half an hour. Anyway, I have had great reactions and feedback. Now my friends are telling their friends, and I have many people asking me to hypnotise them.

My sessions are done by voice. The people on the other end have been both in quiet places and around other noisy people.

Anyway! I think this is a great group as I do skype hypnosis often. I'll be checking back!
