Nope, you do NOT have to hypnotize them first. They just need to follow the directions and you need to have text that captures their imagination, intensifies it, creates expectancy, and deepens their suggestibility within that context.

thanks

The link below is a way I use to hypnotize people via text. It setups the anchor of "stuck in time" http://kauaihypnosis.site90.com/stuck.html

Yeah, I personally have never done it without the spiral, but thats just my version. A ton of hypnotists use text to hypnotize..

It helps to have a suggestible subject, but in my experience (as subject) no. Though the resulting trances were not deep.

Depth of trance will vary between suggestibility context and the type of leading processes. There are folks who find it difficult to let go and surrender into themselves with their eyes open reading text (which is inherently more of a conscious act than other forms) . . . however, very deep trance is very much attainable via text-only trance. Anything from automatisms, hallucinations, to full body orgasm can and has been achieved via text-only inductions.

Sorry, don't have a list links specific messages in the archive at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypnosisTechniqueExchange but if you search you are likely to find the discussions of several such processes with transcripts.

All the best,
Brian
