Sorry I missed this, and the other questions earlier. Here is some feedback:

If you understand that (for lack of a better term) a trance state exists whenever we have our attention focused, then you may realize that instant messenger text chat generates a trance state by itself (by that definition). As long as the subject is not multi-tasking (i.e. chatting in multiple windows or has background activities going on like watching TV) all you have to do is suggest, and they will react, as long as there is no reason not to.

I can't count how many times, after I have gotten permission to show something to the subject, that I just had them notice that their left ear was itching, (or for the adult recreational crowd...they noticed something else ;) without any kind of an induction whatsoever. "How did you do that?" they all exclaim. Muhahahahaha...

Understanding how and why it works is much more important than just knowing what to say.

Ok I am curious..I know some techniques I would love to hear how through Text?
The first time I took anyone into hypnosis with intent was thru text..... and I've never used a spiral... or anything except word text....
Like Elizabeth, I have never used a spiral for text chat or the like.

I just used text . . . hypnotic text but text nonetheless . . . when I was playing around with text hypnosis, the vast majority of the folks I worked with had never been hypnotized . . . a few had and if I had worked with someone before then I used triggers and the like, of course, but they are NOT needed.

How effective did you find it to be?

Very. At one time or another, I've induced all of the major deep trance phenomena via text alone.

Granted, there are some folks who find it difficult . . . but then there are some folks who find aural hypnosis difficult.

Like Brian.... Most had not been hypnotized before... can you use triggers with text ...if you and the one your hypnotizing wants... but certainly not necessary. You would probably be surprised what * could * be done with just text ... I personaly haven't done text in a long time.. can I again... Of course I can.

I ran across an instance of text hypnosis on YouTube yesterday, in which the text was presented without sound, and with only still pictures of a pretty girl staring at you with a hypnotic gaze. The suggestion was then given to get in touch with her, and that her further suggestions would work by any means by which they were communicated, including e-mail and text. Judging from the comments, she was successful with at least some people. Does this present a danger?  (I think I'm going to post this in the General Discussion Forum as well.)
