I agree that taking a break from something, and doing something different for a while is a very good practice.
one comes back refreshed, and with new creative energy.
Had a look at your blog. I am very much interested in life stories, and how people choose to tell them.
I tend towards the redemptive version. but I fluctuate between clasical heroic saga and soap opera, with a bit of sit com thrown in. I do rarely slip into tragedy too, but usually end up painting myself as the conquering hero.
Like Theseus, I love following the thread through a labrynth.

Permalink Reply by Fable Goodman on May 13, 2009 at 7:23am At one time in my life, I got a bit stuck in a 'damsel in distress'/ 'mother' narrative, thinking I had to take care of everyone but secretly hoping that a knight in shining armour would come and rescue me. Of course, he didn't. In fact, he may have been kept away by the enchanted forest that I had grown all around me. :-)
